Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Cynthia Reyes conducted an unannounced case management licensee initiated inspection to inspect the preschool facility for decrease in capacity determination. Licensee is requesting to decrease the capacity of their existing preschool license from a capacity of 96 to 72. Due to COVID- 19 precautionary measures were taken. Licensing staff met with site Supervisor, Christine Garcia . who guided the LPA on a tour of the facility inside and out on this date. Their is a Special Ed program on the premises that will take over class room #4 that is being removed from the license. There is a waiver on file for a staggered shared outdoor play between the preschool and the special Ed program, due to the Special Ed program is already in use in class rooms #5 & #6. The facility hours of operation are Monday - Friday 6:30 AM - 6 PM. LPA was provided a tour of the facility\342\200\231s existing three licensed classrooms #1, #2, and #3 and class room #4, which will be removed from the preschool license. LPA inspected all the rooms and observed a bathroom in rooms 1, 2 and 3, each room with 2 toilets (Cap 30) and 2 sinks (Cap 30) for a total capacity of 90. The special Ed class room has its own bathroom in class room #4 with 2 toilets and 2 sinks and the removal of that bathroom will not effect the requested Decrease capacity of 72. There are age appropriate furniture and toys that were observed to be clean and safe. During this inspection, LPA observed cots for napping. Outdoor previously licensed for a capacity of 140, will still allow for the decrease of capacity of 72 preschool children.
