What the inspector wrote

****** THIS INSPECTION WAS CONDUCTED IN SPANISH****** Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Ashley Calderon conducted an unannounced annual/ random inspection to the above facility. LPA met with Antonia Garcia, Licensee who allowed LPA entrance into the facility. Upon arrival LPA observed 9 children present during inspection, Licensee and Staff Assistant. The children\342\200\231s roster is available and is current. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 7:30am to 5:30pm. This is a one-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen (with dining area), living room, family room (day-care room), activity room, office, garage, front yard, and backyard (fenced). The children use both bathrooms, family room, activity room, and backyard. Per licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: all bedrooms, office, kitchen and living room ( Kitchen and living room only to walk to the restroom with adult), garage, and front yard. Individuals residing in the home have been discussed and noted. All adults present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption. Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in the home. Licensee Garcia guided analyst on a tour of the facility. All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected. LPA reviewed required posted documentation located by the entrance of the facility. Postage: Facility License and Publication (PUB) 394- Notification of Parent Rights. LPA due to printer issues will email (LIC) 9148- Earthquake Preparedness form to post. (Pg 1/ Cont...) Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and found operable. The home maintains telephone service via landline and cell phone. The home is observed to be clean and orderly. There are toys and other age appropriate material available for children. LPA observed that detergents and cleaning compounds stored under kitchen sink with baby safety latch inaccessible to children. Licensee states that there are no poisons stored in the home and understands that all poisons must be lock, not only inaccessible to children. Per Licensee, no children currently on medication. Kitchen was observed to have knives in far to reach counter and per Licensee provides food to children in care. Bathroom was observed to be clean and functional located in the hallway. Backyard was observed to have a locked shed, (4) play water tables with no water. LPA reminded Licensee when there is water play to dump out water after each use. No bodies of water observed. Facility records were reviewed for LIC 9040- Facility Roster, LIC 610- Facility Disaster Plan and Disaster drill log, last drill conducted on 6/24/25. Fire extinguisher was observed with receipt dated 4/26/25. Staff records were reviewed. Staff Assistant and Licensee have valid Pediatric 1st aid and cpr certification and valid Mandated Reporter Certification, expires 2026. Staff assistant has immunization records on file and additional licensing forms in place. Children's file's was reviewed. Infant has 15 min sleep log. All children had required documentation's in file. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. (Pg 2/ Cont..) Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the Licensee, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. Based on today\342\200\231s visit, Per California Code of Regulations Title 22, the facility was found in compliance and no deficiencies cited on today's visit. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days and appeal rights provided. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee Antonia Garcia. (Page 3. End of Report)
