What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Seung Lee conducted an unannounced required inspection. Upon arrival LPA Lee met with Director Marisa Armenta. This facility is a preschool program that consists of 2 classrooms total. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 7:30AM-4:00PM. LPA observed 16 children in the classroom with 1 additional staff member. Two classrooms are used to operate the preschool program but all children were observed in 1 classroom. LPA was informed children are required to bring their lunch from home. Classroom contains a first aid kit. Medication is administered as needed and is stored in an overhead cabinet. Per director, children are placed in an isolated area of the classroom when observed to be sick until parents arrival. Physical plant was inspected for cleanliness and good repair. LPA observed the sleeping equipment in use. There were age appropriate toys and equipment. Sign-in sheets were reviewed. Lighting was in operable condition. Children's individual storage space was inspected and Carpets were observed to be clean. The classroom contains two toilets and two sinks which were observed to be in operable condition. Outdoor area and equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. Required shade and fencing were inspected. Play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water. Page 1 of 2 Staff and children records were reviewed for completeness including but not limited to Criminal Record Clearances for adults, Director Qualifications and verification of CPR/First Aid and health preventive practices documentation. Review of required forms was made. Teacher child ratios were observed and staff names recorded. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. The notice of site inspection must remain posted for a period of 30 days during hours of operation. Failure to maintain posting will result in a civil penalty of $100.00 dollars.
