What the inspector wrote

An unannounced Required Annual Inspection was conducted on this day by Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Carolyn Tuba and Judy Mora. Facility is currently licensed for a capacity of 30 School Age Children ranging from 5 to 12 years of age. At the time of arrival there were no children or school-age staff present. Licensing staff met with Director, Maricruz Flores who guided LPAs on an indoor and outdoor tour of the facility. The program currently operates Monday thru Friday from 6:15 am - 7:30 am and 2:30 pm - 6:00 pm, Tuesday 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm and 4th Thursday of the month 1:00pm - 6:00 pm on school days only. There is presently a licensed infant and preschool program being conducted physically in separate areas both indoor and outdoors. All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected and checked the following: Fingerprint clearances, staff/child ratio, children and staff records were reviewed. There is a food preparation area, storage and refrigeration. There is a boys and girls restroom with 1 toilet in each restroom and 2 age appropriate sinks in good repair, water temperatures, toilet paper, paper towels, area safety and sanitation. Equipment, outside play area and overall conditions of facility, furniture were inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. There is telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Appropriate storage for children's belongings and an isolation area with a sink, and toilet are located in the director's office. Water jugs and drinking cups are available for the children and was reviewed. First Aid supplies were inventoried. LPAs observed required forms to be posted on the Parent Board located near the entrance of the facility. LPAs observed the following: Facility License, Snack Menus, LIC 913A Personal Rights, PUB 269 Child Car Seat Poster, PUB 369 Notification Of Parent's Rights and LIC 610 Emergency Disaster Plan. LIC 9148 Earthquake Preparedness and Verification of Disaster and Fire Drills were reviewed. Page 1 of 2 Smoke detectors and Carbon Monoxide are present in the facility and were tested and operating. Fire extinguisher was serviced on January 4, 2022. Snack menus were reviewed and facility provides an afternoon snack to children. Director, was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
