On April 10, 2026 LPA Bishop provided information regarding obtaining an above ground pool. Licensee Valenzuela inquired as to what are the qualifications that she would need in order to get an above ground pool. LPA Bishop explained that the must also be made securely inaccessible. If the pool structure itself is used as a barrier, or if a fence is mounted on top of the pool, it must ensure the pool remains inaccessible. All licensees shall ensure the inaccessibility of pools (in-ground and above-ground), fixed-in-place wading pools, hot tubs, spas, fish ponds and similar bodies of water through a pool cover or by surrounding the pool with a fence. Where an above-ground pool structure is used as the fence or where the fence is mounted on top of the pool structure, the pool shall be made inaccessible when not in use by removing or making the ladder inaccessible or erecting a barricade to prevent access to decking. If a barricade is used, the barricade shall meet the requirements of Section 102417(g)(5)(A). LPA Bishop informed Licensee that before a pool is installed that she must contact Licensing before any alterations are made to the home. A visit from Licensing is also required. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee Valenzuela.
