What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Seung Lee conducted an unannounced required inspection. Upon arrival LPA Lee met with Director Jean Leung who provided a tour of the facility. This preschool program consists of 8 classrooms. Hours of operation are from Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM \342\200\223 6:00 PM. PHYSICAL PLANT: Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All toilets and hand washing sinks are safe, sanitary and are operational. All kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter. The kitchen is separate from the classroom . Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids. Drinking fountains are available indoors and outdoors. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects and rodents. Outdoor playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. During the walk trough of the outdoors, LPAs observed bug insecticide on the floor inside the laundry outdoor shed area which was unlocked and accessible to children in care. First Aid supplies were available Napping equipment and bedding were inspected for good condition, appropriate storage and cleanliness. Storage for children's belongings was inspected. LPAs observed children's cubbies inside the classrooms. Parents take blankets home on Friday and return on Monday. Per Director, the isolation area is located in the Director's office. In the Director's office a cot can be placed on the floor for an ill child and the staff restroom is readily available if an ill child requires it. Teacher child ratios were observed, and staff names recorded. Sign in and out sheets were reviewed. Page 1 FACILITY RECORDS: All individuals present have obtained a criminal record clearance or criminal record exemption. There is at least one person trained in CPR and Pediatric First Aid present during this inspection. Children's roster, Children's files, Staff files were reviewed and are current. In review of children\342\200\231s records, files contain information including, but not limited to the following: Name, address and telephone number of the child's authorized representative and of relatives or others who can assume responsibility for the child if the authorized representative cannot be reached when necessary. Per Director, there are currently no children enrolled at this time who required IMS. For IMS information, see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. No deficiencies were cited during this inspection. Facility was advised to check the CCL website at www.cdss.ca.gov for licensing forms, regulations and quarterly updates. Notice of Site Visit (LIC9213) was provided and must be posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit by licensing representative. Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00.
