What the inspector wrote
Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) R. Derraco conducted an unannounced annual inspection to the above facility on 07/22/25. LPA arrived at the facility at 10:30 AM and met with Licensee, Angelica Sanchez, who guided analyst on a tour. Also present during this inspection was an assistant, S2 and S3. Per Licensee, there are 14 children that are currently enrolled. There were 13 children present upon arrival; 2 infants were observed. Per file review, 1 child was observed to be 6 years old. Licensee was observed to be within capacity limits indicated on family child care license.
This is a one story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen/dining room, living room, a detached garage, front yard and backyard (fenced). The off limit areas include 1 bathroom, and 2 bedroom.
The main care are is located in the living room. LPA observed a wall mounted television, two wooden baby cribs, napping cots and a couch. A bedroom designated for use by children in care was observed with and additional infant crib, a full sized bed, wall mounted television, dramatic play set and bedroom furniture. The bathroom was observed with an operable sink, faucet and toilet. Sharp or pointy objects were not observed to be accessible in the kitchen area. Child locks were observed on drawers and cabinets below the counter top. Per licensee, cleaning supplies are kept locked beneath the kitchen sink. Licensee states that she provides food for children in care. Licensee was reminded that children whom bring food from home must have containers individually labeled and properly stored or refrigerated. The dining area was observed with a table and chairs. LPA observed that children use child sized feeding chairs that rest on the floor. The detached garage is used as an activity space for children in care. LPA observed age appropriate toys, children's reading material, an infant changing station, child sized table, child sized chair, and a wall mounted air conditioning unit. Licensee understands that children cannot take naps or meals in the activity
space. LPA observed child napping and taking meals in the main care area and the kitchen area, respectively. The outdoor play area is located in the back yard and wraps around to the front yard. LPA observed perimeter fencing throughout the yard, outdoor play equipment, additional age appropriate toys, and additional child sized table and chairs. Per licensee, isolation area for children showing signs of illness will be in the main care area while they await parent pick up. LPA did not observe the following items during the inspection: Infant Walkers, Johnny Jumpers, Saucer Chairs. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent\342\200\231s Rights Poster and the Facility License were observed to be posted on a wall in the activity space.
Individuals who reside in the home were noted and discussed. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety,
comfort, and cleanliness. There is telephone service via a cellphone that is used and the cellphone stays at the facility during operation hours. Per Licensee, the home is equipped with central heating and air conditioning. The licensee understands that storage areas for poisons must be locked, not just made inaccessible. The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was serviced on 09/26/24, as indicated on service tag. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable. No bodies of water were observed in the back yard play area. There are no pets on the premises. Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in the home. Smoking is prohibited in a licensed Family Child Care Home. Per Licensee, no one smokes in the home.
The licensee and other personnel have completed training on preventive health practices including Pediatric First Aid and CPR. The licensee's Pediatric First Aid and CPR expires on 08/2026

LPA observed that the Licensee and assistants have proof of the Mandated Reporter AB 1207 compliant Child Care Training Certificate on file.
File review was observed to have proper mandated immunization records. Children\342\200\231s records were reviewed, including emergency information and were observed to be complete. A current children\342\200\231s roster was available for review.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at

as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
During the exit interview, the licensee confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.

At this time, the licensee is in compliance with California Code of Regulations Title 22. No deficiencies cited.
