Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Cynthia Reyes conducted a case management inspection due to the facility requesting to add an additional outdoor space for this preschool program and construction being done to the main/directors office. This inspection is to ensure the health and safety standards as required by the regulations governing child care centers are met. LPA met with Director, Aysegul Inceoglu. Aysegui guided the analyst on a tour of the facility inside and out and measurements were taken of the new additional preschool outdoor space. LPA inspected the new preschool additional play space which is located by the front of the school entrance, behind the infant program bungalows. A map was provided to the LPA with the walking route of the preschool children from their class rooms to the new outdoor space. A new map needs to be updated with details and provided to the LPA. LPA also informed Director Aysegui that corrections are needed before the play ground will be approved for additional outdoor space. Corrections needed are: Stepping stones to the entrance are a tripping hazard and need to be removed or secured. All trees located in this area need to be trimmed as several branches are at children eye level and children could poke their eyes. The small bush in the play yard, needs to be trimmed or removed and the opening on the wall behind it needs to be fixed as the hole in the wall has exposed wired mesh and is broken. On the ground in the play yard is a cement opening for Edison and the telephone service that needs to be covered or a 100% supervision declaration is needed as it is a tripping hazard for children. Last the gate on the side facing the parking lot, needs to be closed completely with a lock to prevent children from going out that gate. Photos were taken by LPA. LPA also informed Director Aysegui that the additional space is only allowed for 35 preschool children at one time and an outdoor play schedule will need to be submitted as the preschool is licensed for 159 preschool children. Approval of the new preschool additional play yard will be granted once all corrections are made. Continue on next page Page 2 On this date LPA also observed construction is being done to the main/directors office and LPA request for Director Aysegui to update the request with more details of the construction as the request was sent in early, however it was not approved by the LPA before they began on 02/03/2025. LPA needs to know detail such as what days and time the construction is being done? how many workers are on site and their location at all times while on site? to name a few. LPA will need to review the facility file for measurements of the already licensed preschool play yard where part of the construction is being done to ensure space was not taken away from the yard to make the office bigger. LPA also requested for the Director to submit a new facility sketch with the already licensed outdoor preschool play yard measurements. Exit interview conducted and a copy of this report, and the notice of site visit was left with Aysegul Inceoglu, Director. Consultation was conducted that construction may need to seize if this information is not provided by close of business Wednesday 02/12/2025.
