What the inspector wrote

On July 9, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Staicy Perry conducted an unannounced case management visit to the above facility. The purpose of this visit was to follow up on a Plan of Correction (POC) related to a Type B deficiency previously cited on June 9, 2025, under the Health & Safety Code Section 1596.81481, Pool Safety. Upon arrival, LPA met with Licensee Sara Morla. LPA observed 6 children in care and verified the facility is operating within its licensed capacity and ratio requirements for a Large Family Child Care Home. LPA conducted a visual inspection of the pool area and obtained photos to document compliance. The pool met all requirements pursuant to Health & Safety Code Section 1596.81481, which mandates that any body of water (including swimming pools) must be properly secured to prevent access by children in care. Additionally, the facility was found to be in full compliance with AB 2866, to strengthen pool safety requirements. This law requires that all licensees with pools or other bodies of water maintain barriers or other approved safety features to restrict unsupervised access by children in care. Items observed today were all ASTM International Standard F2208. LPA inspected, the life ring and had a minimum exterior width of 17 inches and LPA also observed it to be United States Coast Guard Approval label, verifying it meets safety standards. LPA examined the rescue pole and observed to have a body hook and is at least 12 feet in fixed length. Pool alarm was observed pool alarm to be ASTM International Standard F2208. Based on documentation review (including the previously submitted POC) and visual observations conducted today, the deficiency cited under pool safety requirements has been cleared. LPA provided the Licensee with a \342\200\234Letter of Deficiency Citations Cleared.\342\200\235 This letter must be retained in the facility file for at least three years and made available to the public upon request. An LIC9213 (Notice of Site Visit) was issued and posted by the Licensee. This notice must remain posted for 30 days. An interview was conducted with Sara Morla, Licensee, who stated understanding of maintaining pool safety requirements under the Health & Safety Code, Title 22, and AB 2866, and affirmed commitment to ongoing compliance. No deficiencies were observed during today\342\200\231s visit. LPA Perry provided appeal rights.
