What the inspector wrote

Prior to entrance to the facility, LPA Mayra Rivera conducted a Covid 19 assessment and based on the responses to the facility assessment questions, LPA Rivera determined safe to proceed. On Monday, June 21, 2021 at 10:30 AM , Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mayra Rivera conducted a capacity increase inspection and met with Education Specialist Lety Rico and Supervisor Zayra Rodriguez who guided LPA Rivera on a tour of the facility LPA Rivera was not able to conduct a full inspection due to Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) is currently on summer vacation and the classrooms are under their annual summer cleaning. The furniture has been moved around by the janitor in order for the district to clean the classrooms and wax the floors. LPA Rivera observed in place storage cabinets and teacher rooms. LPA asked Lety and Zayra if the storage cabinets are going to stay or be removed. Both stated the cabinets are going to remain in the classrooms and no additional cabinets will be added. Based on the encumbered furniture in place, LPA Rivera was able to continue with the measurements of the three classrooms. LPA Rivera outreached LPM Guangorena and RM Greene for advice in regards conducting a full inspection since the classrooms were not set up due to the annual cleaning. LPA informed the classrooms has the encumbered furniture in place but the areas such as dramatic play, blocks, library, manipulative and art have been moved around due to the annual cleaning. LPM and RM stated to continue with the measurements and confirm with staff that no more encumbered furniture will be added and to inform Lety to notify LPA Rivera once the classrooms are set up and ready. Room one for encumbered space the classroom has a single storage cabinet, a 4 storage cabinets attached to the wall and a teacher's room. Room two for encumbered space the classroom has one gray metal file in the corner near the door and a teacher's room. Room three for encumbered space the classroom has one brown storage cabinet, 4 storage cabinets attached the wall and a teacher's room Restroom for room one and three is located between room one a three and has one sink and two toilets. Per Lety Rico, the school has a waiver for the one sink to be shared between classroom one and three. Restroom for room two is located in the hallway across from room two, The restroom has one sink and toilet. Per Lety, the children will use a stepper because the toilet is standard size. For outdoor play area the children will be utilizing the back space behind classroom one and three. LPA observed a shade structure and trees for shade. LPA did not observe a drinking water fountain. LPA observed a water jug container and each classroom provides their own water jug and paper cups for indoor and outdoor. LPA observed a medal panel and advised to place a soft padding on the edges or place a barrier to prevent children from getting hurt. LPA also observed near the water drainage a gap between the wall and the metal drain. LPA advised to place a barrier to prevent children from placing their hands or legs between the gap. LPA observed the main entrance gate locked with a key pad lock. Per Lety Rico, the teachers are scheduled to return to school the week of August 9th, 2021 and will inform LPA Rivera once the classrooms are set up and ready for the annual inspection. The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) \342\200\223 must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit made by a licensing representative . Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00. Exit interview was conducted with Education Specialist, Lety Rico including, but not limited to Appeal Procedures, Site Visit and Initial Appeal Rights
