What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Jeanette Estrada and Christine Nolan conducted an unannounced required annual inspection at the above facility. LPAs met with Licensee Ana Velasquez and informed her of the purpose for the visit. LPA provided Licensee with a copy of the Facility Entrance Checklist. During this inspection, there were 4 children present. Licensee's spouse/assistant arrived at a later time. All residents were noted and verified. All criminal record clearances for adults present were verified. Facility currently provides care to children ages 18 months to 10 years old. The facility operates Monday through Saturday 24 hours. LPA advised Licensee that care cannot be provided for a consecutive 24 hour period. This is a one story 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home with a living room, dining area, kitchen, enclosed backyard and garage converted to play room. Per Licensee areas on limits to children are: The living room, one bedroom used for napping/activities hallway bathroom, dining area and enclosed backyard. Areas off limits to children: One bedroom and garage. All areas that are accessible to children were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. LPAs observed a play yard in the living room. Per Licensee, the infant who uses the play yard was not present during the inspection. LPAs observed the dining room where children have meals. LPAs observed the bedroom/play room. LPAs observed napping cots in the play room. Per Licensee she provides and launders the bedding. There are toys and other age appropriate materials available for children to use in the day care areas. The following was observed and reviewed during this inspection: LPA observed required posted documentation- Facility license, Publication (PUB) 394- Notification of Parent Rights and Licensing Form (LIC) 9148- Earthquake Preparedness form, LIC 9040 Facility Roster. Licensee had a current copy of the facility roster and the last documented disaster drill was conducted in May 2025. Page 2 There is an operable combination smoke/carbon monoxide detector in the facility. LPA observed a 2A10BC fire extinguisher in the facility. LPAs observed the fire extinguisher is fully charged but did not have a service tag or receipt to document date of purchase. During the inspection Licensee obtained a new 2A10BC fire extinguisher. Ventilation is provided via an A/C unit in the living room and ceiling fans. There is one screened heater in the living room. The home maintains telephone service (land line and cell phone). Food is provided by Licensee. Licensee was reminded if children bring food from home it must be labeled with the child\342\200\231s name and properly stored or refrigerated. Sharp objects, detergents and cleaning compounds in the kitchen were inaccessible to children in care. Knives are kept in a latched kitchen cabinet. Cleaning compounds are kept in a latched cabinet under the kitchen sink. Medicine is kept in an upper kitchen cabinet. Laundry area is in the off limits garage. Children use the bathroom in the hallway. Per facility representative, children are escorted and supervised while using the restroom. LPA did not observe any hazardous items in the bathroom. Children use the backyard for outdoor play. The children access the backyard through the bedroom/playroom. Per Licensee, children are supervised while playing outside. LPAs observed toys and equipment available in the back yard. There is no pool/bodies of water on the premises. Licensee was advised that all poisons must be locked, not only inaccessible to children. Per Licensee poisons are kept in the off limits locked garage. Per facility representative there are no pets in the home. Per Licensee there is no overnight care provided although the facility is open 24 hours. Per Licensee, some children enrolled arrive by 3:30 AM. Children\342\200\231s records were reviewed and included (LIC) 282- Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance, Immunization Records, LIC 700- Identification and Emergency Information, LIC 627- Consent for Medical Treatment, LIC 995A Notification of Parents\342\200\231 Rights. Staff records were reviewed and contained required documents. Licensee and assistant's red cross pediatric first aid expires 6/7/27. LPAs advised that both mandated reporter training and pediatric first aid/cpr must be updated every two years. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the Licensee Ana Velasquez, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee Ana Velasquez
