What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst, LPA, Alicia Mooberry, conducted an unannounced case management inspection to ensure the licensee is in compliance with Health and Safety requirements regarding Pool Safety AB2866. LPA met with licensee Delia Aviles, Licensee and explained the purpose of the inspection. There was 1 child and 1 additional staff upon arrival. LPA observed the following during inspection: The Access gate to pool was locked with a key. LPA observed that the gate self latches. LPA observed that the facility has pool alarm. The alarm shall be turned on and be in working condition during a facility\342\200\231s operating hours while the swimming pool is not in use. LPA observed a life ring with a minimum exterior diameter of 17 inches and labeled as approved by the United States Coast Guard placed visible inside the pool area readily available for immediate use. LPA observed a daily inspection log (Under HSC section 1596.814) to inspect the pool area (including fence and gate), Pool Alarm, Life ring, pole hook. The check list includes Pond Area, front door alarm, side gate locked, garage door closed. LPA discussed with licensee the they must maintain the log of the inspections to be provided to the department upon request. LPA observed no children occupying the backyard next to the swimming pool during this visit. Per licensee, children are always supervised while they play in the yard. No deficiencies are cited during this inspection. Notice of Site visit was provided during this inspection and must be posted for 30 days.. Exit Interview conducted with Licensee, Delia Aviles. appeal rights were discussed
