What the inspector wrote

On 01/30/2026 at 1:15PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) J. Duran conducted an unannounced annual inspection in Spanish at the above facility. LPA met with Licensee, Rosa Ramirez who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Entrance Checklist for Family Child Care Homes was provided to the licensee upon entry. Per Licensee, there are 4 children that are currently enrolled. A current children\342\200\231s roster was available for review. There were no children present upon arrival. This is a single-story home. The home consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room backyard (fenced), front yard (fenced) and detached garage. Areas accessible to children are: Bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, detached garage and back yard (fenced). Areas off limits to children and parents are: Drive way which is fenced off & front yard. Licensee was informed that the detached garage can only be used for activities. No eating, napping or toileting. Individuals who reside in the home were noted and discussed. All adults present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance. Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in the home. LPA did not observe any fire arms or weapons during time inspection. All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. There is telephone service via a landline and cell phone that is used. Safe toys play equipment and materials were observed. Detergents, cleaning compounds and other items which could pose a danger to children were observed to be kept under the kitchen sink with a child safety latch making them inaccessible to children. The licensee states that there are no poisons in the home and understands that storage areas for poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock. The restroom that children use was observed to be safe and sanitary. The valve on the required 2A10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was serviced on 4/30/2025, as indicated on service tag. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable. LPA observed them in the kitchen and bedroom hallway. page 1 of 3. ****Inspection Conducted in Spanish***** Currently, children are using the back yard for outdoor play time. The outdoor play area was observed to be fenced. LPA observed that the outdoor yard has toys and other materials for children to play with. LPA did not observe any bodies of water in the backyard (fenced). The licensee states that supervision is always provided. Per Licensee, there are no pets in the home. The licensee and other personnel have completed training on preventive health practices including Pediatric First Aid and CPR. The licensee's Pediatric First Aid and CPR expires on 06/12/2026. Licensee did not have proof of Mandated Reporter Certificate on file, LPA stated she did not know she had to renew every 2 yrs. One type B deficiency was issued as this poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care. There are first aid supplies available. LPA observed them in the bedroom hallway cabinet. LPA advised that if a child shows signs of illness he/she/they shall be separated from other children. Licensee states children will be isolated if ill in on limits bedroom. Children\342\200\231s records were reviewed, including emergency information and were observed to be complete. The licensee has proof of immunization against influenza, pertussis, and measles. All homes shall conduct fire and disaster drills at least once every six months and document the date and time of each drill. Last drill documented was conducted on 8/5/25. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent\342\200\231s Rights Poster and the Facility License were observed to be posted. Smoking is prohibited in a licensed Family Child Care Home. Per Licensee, no one smokes in the home. Licensee Rosa Ramiez was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee Rosa Ramirez and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee Rosa Ramirez of the importance of checking for and removing any recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee Rosa Ramirez was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the Licensee Rosa Ramirez, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
