What the inspector wrote
On 04/22/2026 at 9:30AM Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) J.Duran and E.Lujan conducted an unannounced Required Annual inspection. LPAs met with Licensee Karina Miketta who guided LPAs on a tour of the facility. Upon arrival, LPAs observed Licensee caring for 3 children none were infants. Per Licensee there are 6 children enrolled attending at various times. Individuals residing in the home were noted. The children's roster is current.
LPAs conducted an inspection of all areas of the facility sketch. This is a one-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, front yard.
The children use the bathroom in the hallway, living room, one bedroom, dining room area and gated front yard.
Per licensee, areas off limits to children include: kitchen, two bedrooms, one restroom and back patio.
Areas accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for the safety of the children. There is a working telephone maintained in the home. Licensee has no pets at this time. LPAs advised Licensee to provide extra care if she gets a pet as animals may be unpredictable. LPAs informed Licensee to provide extra care and supervision for front yard play and any outdoor play to prevent children from wandering. LPAs observed children picnic tables, kids playhouse and small jungle gym. There is turf (artificial grass) all throughout the front yard and its properly gated.

Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible. Licensee was also reminded to ensure that all medicines, chemicals, cleaners, paints, sharp objects, grills, propane, and similar hazardous items must be inaccessible at all times. Poisons must also be locked. Per licensee there are no poisons in the home.
Per Licensee there are no bodies of water and LPAs did not observe any on the premises. The License, Parents Rights Poster, and Earthquake Preparedness was posted. The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged with a service tag dated 10/14/2026. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors family room were tested and are in operable. Last Drill was conducted on 09/2025. Per licensee there are no weapons in the home.
LPAs observed the Licensee has the current Mandated Reporter training which expires in 03/05/2028 LPAs also observed the Licensee has immunization documentation for measles, pertussis and tuberculosis. Licensee’s Pediatric First Aid & CPR Certificate expires 08/08/2027.
LPAs reviewed children's files which include documentation such as Parent's Rights, Personal, Affidavit for Liability insurance, Identification and Emergency, Consent for Emergency Treatment, Additional Children in Care and Immunization records. Infants shall be checked on every 15 minutes and document the child's condition. The LIC 9227 Individual Infant Sleeping The plan shall be completed for each infant up to 12 months of age. LPAs discussed the form and explained that the LIC 9227 form that is available on CCLD website. LPAs advised the Licensee that infants shall be placed on their backs for sleeping and shall be supervised. LPAs discussed LIC 311D - Forms/Records to Keep in Your Family Child Care Home. Mandatory Forms for the children’s files and staff files, requirements for fire drills, earthquake drills and documentation were discussed.
No smoking, No infant walkers, No Johnny jumpers, No saucer chairs, and any other item that falls into that category are not permitted in the facility.

Licensee Karina Miketta was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee Karina Miketta and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at

as an additional resource. LPAs also informed licensee Karina Miketta of the importance of checking for and removing any recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee Karina Miketta was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
During the exit interview, the Licensee Karina Miketta, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPAs completed the RSO profile in FAS.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
