What the inspector wrote
*LPA Dunlap offered Interpreter Services; the Licensee declined.
On June 25, 2025, at 9:20 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Keneisha Dunlap conducted an unannounced annual inspection of the facility. Licensee- Betty Amaya granted entry after LPA Dunlap announced the purpose of visit. At the time of inspection, 14 children were enrolled, with 6 children present. The facility Monday- Friday from 12:00 AM to 11:00 PM. All adults in the home were discussed and background and fingerprinted cleared.
The License, Earthquake Disaster Checklist (LIC9148), Disaster Plan (LIC610A), and PUB 394 (Parent's Rights) were all observed to be posted. The Licensee maintains a current LIC 9040 (facility roster). The most recent disaster drill was conducted on March 3, 2025, and documented in the disaster drill log.
This is a one-story home which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, 3 living rooms, a detached garage, fenced front yard, and backyard. The off limit areas include 1 bedroom, kitchen, detached garage, and backyard.
Living Room 1 (Main Care Area): This area has tile floors with area rugs, mounted TV, two couches, a playpen, and age-appropriate toys. Nap time is provided in this area. LPA Dunlap observed all furnishings, equipment, and materials were in good condition.
Living Room 2: This area has tile floors, two mounted TV\342\200\231s, a couch, fours playpens, music & movement, manipulative items, arts & crafts materials, and age-appropriate toys. There is a half door that separates Living Room 1 from Living Room 2. LPA Dunlap observed all furnishings, equipment, and materials were in good condition. Page 1 of 5
Living Room 3: This area has tile floors with area rug,mounted TV, and soft furnishings. Cots are stored in this area. This is area is used mostly for storage area. LPA Dunlap observed all furnishings, equipment, and materials were in good condition.
Bedroom: This area has tile floors, one bed and dresser. LPA Dunlap observed all furnishings, equipment, and materials were in good condition.
Dining Room: This area has tile floors age-appropriate tables, and chairs, 3 highchairs, and sign in area for parents. There is a gate separating the dining room from the living room. This area also has a gate that makes the hallway inaccessible to children.
Kitchen: While an off-limits area, the kitchen was observed to have a wooden gate with a latch on the opposite of the gate making it inaccessible to children.
Bathroom: The bathroom features an operable toilet and sink. The cabinets have safety latches making it inaccessible to children in care.
Bathroom 2: The bathroom features an operable urinal, toilet and sink. The cabinets have safety latches making it inaccessible to children in care.
Outdoor Play Area (Front Yard): The front yard features artificial grass, shade canopy, age-appropriate toys, playhouses, dramatic play area, mini slide, mini basketball hoop, tater ball, playpen, and age- appropriate chairs, and tables. LPA Dunlap observed all furnishings, equipment, and materials were in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts.
The home is ventilated by a HVAC system.
An operable fire system with a pull-down alarm and siren located near the front door.
LPA Dunlap observed a fire extinguisher with a service tag dated February 26, 2025, located in the main care area.
LPA Dunlap observed an operable smoke detector.
LPA Dunlap observed an operable carbon monoxide detector.

The Licensee confirmed the following:
Meals are provided for children.
A cell phone is used for communication.
No children are currently receiving medication administration.
Sick children are isolated in the bedroom.
There are no firearms in the home.
There are no smokers in the home.
Transportation is provided for children.
A first aid kit is available.
There are no large bodies of water on the premises.
There are no pets on the premises.

CPR certification expires on December 14, 2026.
Mandated Reporter training expires on January 27, 2027.

Licensee- Betty Amaya was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Licensee- Betty Amaya and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at

as an additional resource. LPA also informed Licensee- Betty Amaya of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee- Betty Amaya was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

During the exit interview, the Licensee- Betty Amaya confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
No deficiencies cited during today\342\200\231s visit.
