At 9:30am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stephanie Li conducted an unannounced annual inspection to the above facility. A risk assessment was conducted upon entry. LPA met with Licensee Maria Juarez, who led LPA on a tour of the facility. There are currently 10 children enrolled. There were 2 adults and 6 children present upon arrival. Facility capacity is in compliance for a Large Family Child Care Home. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 5:30am - 5:00pm. This is a one story home, which consists of 5 bedrooms, 2 bathroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, storage room, front yard (fenced play area) and separated back yard/driveway. Children have access to the front part of the house, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, and front yard. Off-limits to children in care is back part of house, 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and backyard/driveway. Per Licensee, there are no weapons or fire arms on the property. No bodies of water were observed. All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. There is a window ac unit and central heat. There is telephone service via cellphone and land line that stays at the facility during operation hours. Licensee\342\200\231s cell number and email were verified during visit. The following was observed and reviewed during this inspection: LPA observed that the following required postings were up: Facility License, Publication (PUB) 394- Notification of Parent Rights and Licensing Form (LIC) 9148- Earthquake Preparedness form. LPA reviewed facility records for LIC 9040- Facility Roster, LIC 610- Facility Disaster Plan. All homes shall conduct fire and disaster drills at least once every six months, and document the date and time of each drill. Log was observed on parent board, last drill conducted 9/8/2025. pg. 1 of 4 There are toys, equipment and learning materials available for children. There are mats and playpens available for each child to nap. First aid kit is available. Drinking water is available through filtered water. License participates in the Options food program and provides breakfast, lunch, and pm snack. LPA observed the required fire extinguisher 2A10BC, last serviced on 03/25/2025 per service tag. Per State Fire Marshall standards, fire extinguishers shall be serviced annually. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable. Cleaning compounds, and medications were observed to be in assessable. Per Licensee, there are no poisons in the home and understands that all poisons must be locked, to be made inaccessible to children. Licensing staff reminded licensee smoking is not allowed in a family child care home. The restroom that children use was observed to be safe and sanitary. During visit, lock was placed on under sink bathroom cabinet storing cleaning supplies. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. LPA reminded licensee that safe sleep check and log must be conducted for children ages 0-24 months old. Licensee currently has 1 one year old present which is her own child. At 10:30am, LPA observed the front yard area. The outdoor play area was observed to be fenced. At this time, children are using the front yard and front driveway for outdoor play time and curriculum. There is appropriate play materials, play houses, swings, sensory materials and balls for children to use. There is a gated backyard/driveway that is inaccessible to children in care. Backyard/driveway is used for parking cars, tools and other hazardous items were observed during inspection. LPA reminded licensee to keep the gate doors closed and locked while children are outside and in care. The licensee is observed to be operating within the license capacity limitations. pg. 2 of 4 Adult and children\342\200\231s records were reviewed, including emergency information and were observed to be complete. The licensee has completed Pediatric First Aid and CPR. exp 12/2025. Licensee has not completed Mandated Reporter AB 1207 Child Care Training and was not aware that training is now offered in Spanish. A technical violation is being issued. LPA provided website and advised licensee and assistant to complete the training by 9/24/25. Licensee stated that in 2022, she called her analyst and informed them of her mothers (co-licensee) death. LPA requested an updated LIC279, letter stating reasoning to remove co-licensee, and a copy of the death certificate. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) is not being provided at this time. LPA advised the licensee to access forms, regulations and quarterly updates on line at: www.ccld.ca.gov . A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. Currently, the licensee is in compliance with California Title 22 Regulations. There are no citations being issued today. Technical violation is being issued.
