Inspection conducted in English and Spanish LPA provided the inspection Entrance Checklist (LIC 126). Licensee guided LPA on a tour of the facility. Individuals residing in the home have been discussed and noted. Licensee provides care to children ages newborn to 13 years old and operation days/ hours are Monday through Friday 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Upon arrival at 3:00pm the licensee was supervising 6 children including 1 infant. At 3:15pm 7 school aged children arrived, bringing the facility to 13 total children. Since the licensee did not have an assistant, the facility was over the capacity limitations, posing an immediate risk to the health and safety of children in care. Areas that are used by children were inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, ventilation, and heating. Rooms that are off-limits need to be made inaccessible during operating hours. The licensee does understand that licensing staff may have access to off-limit areas during inspection visit if necessary. During this inspection LPA observed that the facility is in compliance regarding Pool Safety AB2866. LPA observed the sliding glass door leading to the backyard where pool is located has been replaced and is locked. The bathroom that children use is in the daycare room, clean and free of hazards. Per Licensee there are no firearms or weapons stored in the home. Area for sick children waiting to be picked up is in the living room, supervised and away from the other children.
