What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Monique Ayala conducted an unannounced Required 1 year inspection. Upon arrival LPA conducted a COVID risk self-assessment and met with Office Administrator, Sara Garrido who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. This is a preschool program which consists of 5 classrooms. All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. LPA observed 45 children with 6 staff. Per office administrator there are 72 children enrolled. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were inaccessible to children. Office Administrator stated that hazardous items such as cleaning products and medication are locked in the off limits cabinet by the the main day care area. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. All toilets and hand washing sinks are safe, sanitary and are operating properly. All floors are clean and safe. All kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter, rubbish and rodents and/or any other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids. All children bring personalized water bottles which are refilled by staff when needed. The facility was observed to be free of flies, other insects and rodents. Outdoor playground equipment is in safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. All areas around or under high climbing equipment, swings, slides, and similar equipment are cushioned with material that absorbs a fall. There is adequate shade in the play yard. All individuals present have obtained a criminal record clearance or criminal record exemption. CPR/First Aid and Pediatric First Aid were reviewed and expire on 6/15/2023. The name of the child care center director or fully qualified teacher(s) designated to act in the director's absence is on file. Educational background, training, and/or experience for each staff present are on file and were reviewed. Children\342\200\231s records/files were reviewed and found to be complete. Staff records were reviewed, LPA did not observe LIC503, Immunizations and TB test for staff #1 and staff #3. Staff #1 does not have a current Mandated Reporter training on file. Snack menus are posted one week in advance where it is visible by the child's authorized representative. Menus for the past 30 days are available upon request. This facility offers AM snack and PM snack to the children depending on the type of program. Children that attend full time bring their own lunch from home. Snacks are prepared in the small kitchen on the first floor. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. LPA advised staff to access forms, regulations and quarterly updates on the Child Care Licensing website at: www.ccld.ca.gov Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Office Administrator, Sara Garrido along with Appeal Rights. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
