What the inspector wrote
Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Anthony Padilla conducted an unannounced annual inspection to the above facility on August 1, 2024. LPA arrived at the facility at 9:10AM and met with Angelica Bravo, Licensee who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Also present during this inspection, was S2 (licensee assistant). Per Licensee, operation hours are 24 hours Monday through Friday and Saturday 6:00AM -3:00 PM . There are 7 children present during time of inspection.
A current children\342\200\231s roster was available for review. This is a one-story duplex which consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, front yard (fenced) and connected backyard (fenced).
The children use the bathroom in the hallway near the living room. The children using the living room for an activity room, napping, and eating. Per Licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: 3 bedrooms, 1 master bathroom, kitchen, laundry room, and garage. The licensee provides food for children in care.
Individuals who reside in the home were noted and discussed. All adults present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in the licensed childcare home. Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in the home. LPA did not observe any of weapons or fire arms during time of inspection. All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. There is telephone service via land line and cellphone that is used, and the cellphone stays at the facility during operation hours. There is ventilation and heating via installed air conditioner, fans, installed heater/AC. Safe toys play equipment and materials were observed.
Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger to children were observed to be inaccessible to children. Poisons are locked in a cabinet in the locked garage. LPA did not observe any of these items during time of inspection. The licensee understands that storage areas for poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock. The restroom that children use was observed to be safe and sanitary.
The valve on the required 2A10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was purchased on 06/24/24 as indicated on the receipt. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable.

During inspection licensee had one infant present in care. LPA advised the Licensee that infants shall be placed on their backs for sleeping and shall be supervised. Infants shall be checked on every 15 minutes and the time of each 15-minute check shall be documented with child\342\200\231s name and date.
Currently, children are using the front yard for outdoor play time. The front yard has a long drive way that leads to back yard and other duplex unit. LPA reminded licensee that children need 100 percent supervision during outdoors time. Licensee stated children only use the front part of the yard and drive way during outdoors times. Licensee stated that cars are unable to access the drive way until after hours of the facility. The outdoor play area was observed to be fenced. LPA observed that the outdoor yard has toys and other materials for children to play with. The licensee is observed to be operating within the license capacity limitations.
LPA conducted a file review for personnel files and licensee and other personnel have completed training on preventive health practices including Pediatric First Aid and CPR. The licensee's Pediatric First Aid and CPR expires on 01/20/2026.
LPA observed that the Licensee has proof of the Mandated Reporter AB 1207 compliant Child Care Training Certificate on file and will need to be renewed on 7/22/26. All homes shall conduct fire and disaster drills at least once every six months and document the date and time of each drill. Last drill documented was conducted on 07/11/2024. There are first aid supplies available. LPA advised that if a child shows signs of illness, he/she/they shall be separated from other children. Licensee states that the children when sick wait for parents in the off limits area kitchen sitting on the dinning table chair and licensee waits with child while being able to still supervise other children in care. Children\342\200\231s records were reviewed, including emergency information and were observed to be complete.
There are no pets on the premises. LPA did not observe any pools, spas, hot tubs, fishponds, or similar bodies of water during the inspection. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent\342\200\231s Rights Poster and the Facility License were observed to be posted.
LPA did/did not observe the following items during the inspection: Infant Walkers, Johnny Jumpers, Saucer Chairs, Trampolines and/or any other item that fall into these categories are not permitted in a family childcare facility. Smoking is prohibited in a licensed Family Child Care Home. Per Licensee, no one smokes in the home.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at

as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
During the exit interview, the LICENSEE Angelica Bravo, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
At this time, the licensee is in compliance with California Title 22 Regulations. Therefore, there are no citations being issued today.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
