Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Page 2 room rugs had not been cleaned or vacuumed, window shades need dusting and trash cans were full. The facility has a lot of toys, some old and new that may make them look dirty. Interviews stated that at the end of the night they may have a high ratio before closing and are not able to clean at the end of the day and will need to clean the next day before the school age children arrive at the site. Interviews stated that the staff do the cleaning and there is not cleaning crew. LPA advised the Director to update and be more detailed regarding the bathroom on the cleaning list (Copy provided) that the staff sign off on when they clean a specific area of the class room. List headings only states sanitize and disinfect, vacuum, mop and clean, however the restroom is only documented under mopping to be done. LPA also advised/consulted that a cleaning crew should come in and deep clean the facility at least once a quarter. LPA also reminded the director of title 22 regulation 101238 Buildings and Grounds (a) The child care center shall be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of children, employees and visitors. Based on LPA observation, interviews conducted and documents reviewed and received, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met, therefore, the above allegation is found to be substantiated. California Code of Regulations (Title 22 Division & Chapter), Type B is being cited on the attached deficiencies page LIC 9099D. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Appeal Rights provided. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director, Martha Alvarez. Page 2 of 2
