On 5/13/2025, at 12:55 pm. Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Carolyn Tuba and Diana Ortiz conducted a case management inspection due to the facility had reported that an upgrade of a play structure was being installed during a prior visit. LPAs met with Assistant Director, Mandie York. LPAs observed a census of 36 children with 4 staff during naptime. The facility had submitted an Unusual Incident Report (UIR) on March 17, 2025, that the City of Claremont would be demolishing and installing a new play structure in the outside area/playground of the facility. The work began on March 31, 2025, and was scheduled to be completed by April 11, 2025. Due to delays the play structure was completed and inspected by the city and opened for the children to use on May 2, 2025. The facility informed parents via Class Dojo prior to the construction work beginning. Since the construction would be conducted during operating hours of the facility, the children would be taken out by staff for nature walks, as well as indoor dance and movement activities. During today’s visit LPAs conducted an inspection and took photos of the new play structure to ensure the safety of the equipment. The material to cushion the falls are made of a foam material. The equipment is age-appropriate and was verified by the LPAs. No citations are being issued during today’s visit. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
