What the inspector wrote

On 5/7/2024 at 10:30 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Carolyn Tuba conducted an unannounced Case Management due to a prior visit and noted a change in the physical plant of the playground area. A COVID risk assessment was conducted. LPA met with Director, Anna Vartevaryan and observed that there were no children in care as they were in school. During this visit LPA took measurements of the playground. LPA observed an iron gate that divides the preschool and school-age playgrounds. (LPA took photos) The following Measurements were taken: OUTDOORS: 1935 sq. ft./75 sq. ft.= 25 children LPA also noted during annual visit on 4/14/2023 that school-age children were using a boy and girls\342\200\231 bathroom with one toilet and one sink in each bathroom with doors for privacy and is located right outside the school-age classroom, however inside the 4-year-old classroom that is licensed under the preschool license. LPA advised Director that the school-age children need to be supervised while using the restroom. Director will be submitting a waiver request for children to use bathrooms in the 4-year-old classroom. LPA noted that preschool children have additional restrooms with 2 toilets and 2 sinks near the 2- and 3-year old classrooms. The Director stated that due to low enrollment children are not typically in the 4-year-old classroom in the afternoon after 2:30 pm. Director will be submitting a new facility sketch both for indoors and outdoors to LPA via email. LPA took photos. LPA also noted that there are two (2) entrances to the facility and beginning tomorrow, May 8, 2024, the preschool parents will be dropping off and picking up through the lobby closest to the Director\342\200\231s office and the school-age parents will pick-up and drop-off children utilizing the second entrance closest to the page 1 of 2 playground. LPA noted and advised Director that children will utilize the door marked exit inside the school-age classroom to enter and exit the playground so not to cross paths with the preschool age children. LPA advised the Director that any physical changes to the facility require that they be notified to the Department prior to the change. LPA issued a Technical Violation on 5/7/2024 under the Preschool license # 198016791 advising Director of California Codes of Regulations 101237(a) Alterations to Existing Buildings or New Facilities. At this time, the facility is in compliance with California Code of Regulations Title 22. Therefore, no deficiencies are being cited. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director, Anna Vartevaryan. page 2 of 2
