What the inspector wrote

About 10:45 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tiffanie Tran arrived at the above licensed facility for the purpose of modification of the facility program by adding the toddler option attach to the preschool program. Upon arrival, LPA met with Leslie Gamero, Ed. Program Manager and Edie Smith, Area Manager. The facility is currently operating with the capacity of 83 preschool age children. The facility is requesting to reduce the capacity of preschool to 75 children by adding the toddler option with the capacity of 8 toddlers. The hours of operation from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The facility had sufficient indoor, outdoor space with toilets and sinks to accommodate the 75 preschooler and 8 toddlers. LPA did not observe any children at the site. Per facility representative, Toddler children will start on August 1, 2022 and Preschool children will start on August 22, 2022. This is a Head Start facility. The facility is serving breakfast, lunch and snack. Food will be delivered daily from the main kitchen. During this inspection, LPA inspected furniture to be age appropriate. The napping equipment were in good condition. Staff indicated, during rest time, children have an option to rest or participate in quiet activities set up in the classroom. Toddler classroom had changing table with an arm reach from the sinks. Children\342\200\231s belongings were stored separately. Isolation area met regulation requirement. Food preparation area was clean. The facility has sufficient play yard space to accommodate both programs. Per facility representative, due to no preschool children on site, toddler children will be utilizing the preschool yard while pending for the installation of the gate to separate the play area for both programs. In the event preschool children resumed back to school prior to gate installation completed then toddler children will remain indoor. There shall be no commingling between both program at any giving time. Facility will contact LPA upon completion for inspection prior to toddler children have access of the yard. Serviced fire extinguishers, smoke detectors/carbon monoxide detectors were observed. All required posting observed. LPA reviewed and obtained the facility current/updated Personnel Record (LIC 500). LPA reviewed facility's sketch which matched the physical plant of the facility. Updated copy of Parent Handbook. The facility was in compliance with Title 22 regulations during today's inspection. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the facility representative, Leslie Gamero. LPA will mail the updated facility licensed to the facility upon availability.
