What the inspector wrote

On 02/13/2024 at 10:00am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Crystal Green and Kruz Long conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection for a change in capacity. Upon arrival, LPA met with Facility Representative, Ruby Sevilla. This facility is currently licensed as Preschool program with a capacity of 45 children. Licensee is requesting to reduced capacity of the preschool children to zero and add a new toddler option program with a capacity of 32 serving ages 18 to 36 months. Hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 7am to 5:30pm. This facility is located on the premises of Hurley Elementary School in portable building 6 which was observed to operate separately both indoors and outdoors. This preschool program will not serve children over the age of 36 months. The licensee understands that they must notify the department prior to implementing changes. Licensing staff tour the facility and measured the indoor and outdoor activity space. This toddle option program will operate from 2 classrooms: Classroom 6 and Classroom 7. Total indoor activity space measured 1504.80 square footage, which can accommodate the request capacity. Licensing staff observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water will be available in the classrooms via filter drinking water station. Licensing staff observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on 10/19/2023. Licensing staff observed a total of 7 sinks, 3 toilets, and 2 changing tables available for children\342\200\231s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 32 children. The changing table was observed to be within arms reach of a sink. Page 2: The designated outdoor area was observed to be fully fenced playground area. Fencing was observed to be wrought iron and at least four feet high. The total square footage for all the outdoor activity space is 4,712.36 square footage, which can accommodate the request capacity. Shade and a seating area was observed in the outdoor play area. Drinking water will be available via water container. Facility Representative, Ruby Sevilla, was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing. No corrections are needed. This facility will be licensed for a capacity of (32) toddler children from ages 18 to 36 months upon a final file review and receipt of an approved Fire Clearance. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee Representative, Ruby Sevilla. A notice of site visit was given to the facility representative and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
