This visit was conducted in Spanish. On 11/26/2025, Licensing Program Analyst Monica Ruiz conducted an unannounced annual inspection of the facility noted above. A risk assessment was conducted prior to entry. LPA met with Licensee, Socorro Cortez who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Entrance Checklist (LIC 126) was provided. There were 0 day care children present at the time of inspection. Adults in the home were discussed and are fingerprint cleared. Per Licensee, the facility\342\200\231s hours of operation are Monday-Friday 7:00am \342\200\223 6:00am. Emergency Disaster Plan, License, and Parents\342\200\231 Rights were posted on the parent board in the living room at the time of inspection. Disaster Drill log was also available for review during today\342\200\231s inspection, last disaster drill conducted on 11/03/2025. This facility is in an apartment complex located on the first floor which consists of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room/play area, and balcony (fenced). Areas accessible to children include the living room/play area, dining room, and 1 bathroom which is located next to the entrance. Areas off-limits to children and parents include kitchen, bedroom #1 and #2, and balcony. Licensee states, there are no pets on the premises. Per licensee, family members residing in the home are 2 adults. All areas identified on the facility sketch as accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for the safety and comfort of the children in care. There is a working telephone maintained in the home. LPA observed age-appropriate toys, free of loose and sharp parts such as board games, art supplies, puzzles, blocks, and sensory toys. Licensee provides snack and dinner for children in care. All food items are prepared by the Licensee. LPA observed there to be a sufficient amount of food and beverages in stock for the children in care. Smoke and carbon monoxide detector, located in the living room, was tested at 10:30 am and was operable on this day. Licensee states that there are no poisons stored in the home and understands that all poisons must be locked, not only inaccessible to children. Licensee was advised that inaccessibility of hazards must constantly be assessed. Isolation area for sick children waiting to be picked up is in the living room, if necessary, away from the other children. Per Licensee there are no firearms or weapons store in the home and none were observed on this day. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and- resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. Infant (0-24 months) Sleep Log requirement was discussed. Providers are required to document infant safe sleep every 15 minutes. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee states that she does not have infants in care at this time. Children\342\200\231s records were reviewed for (LIC) 282- Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance, Immunization's Records, LIC 700- Identification and Emergency Information, LIC 627- Consent for Medical Treatment, LIC 995A Notification of Parents\342\200\231 Rights, LIC 9227- Infant sleep form (0-12 months, and documentation of 15-minute Infant Sleep Check (0-24 months).The following were discussed: Infants (ages 0 - 2 years) Sleep Log requirement was discussed. Providers are required to document infant safe sleep every 15 minutes. Rooms that are off-limits need to be made inaccessible during operating hours. NO smoking, NO infant walkers, NO Johnny jumpers, NO saucer chairs, NO incline sleepers and any other item that falls into that category are permitted in the facility. page 2 Effective January 1, 2010, licensees of family child care homes are required to ensure that at least one staff member with current training in pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR is on site at all times when children are present. Licensee has a current CPR/1 st Aid certification which expires on 8/2026. AB 1207 : Beginning on January 1, 2018, this law requires all licensed providers, applicants, directors and employees to complete training as specified on their mandated reporter duties and to renew their training every two years. Senate Bill 792 : this bill, commencing September 1, 2016, prohibits a person from being employed or volunteering at a child care facility or family day care if he or she has not been immunized against influenza, pertussis and measles. LPA discussed the influenza waiver during the visit. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 2202-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. page 3 LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for and removing any recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. The facility was found in compliance per Title 22 regulations; there will be no deficiencies cited today 11/26/2025. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
