11:50 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA)Katrina Chicote conducted an Unannounced Required \342\200\223 1 Year inspection to the above facility. Upon arrival, LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry to facility by Licensee's Assistant (A1). LPA observed eight children outside with two staff (A2) upon arrival. Licensee,
Maria Sedano,
was informed of purpose of inspection and guided the LPA on a tour of the facility. Adults in the home were discussed and all have criminal record clearance. There were 11
day care children, four of which are infants, present during today\342\200\231s inspection. Licensee states that there are currently

children enrolled. LPA provided Licensee LIC 126 during inspection. The children's roster was reviewed and is current.
Required postings were observed on Information board in Day Care Space. Disaster drill log was also available during today\342\200\231s inspection, last disaster drill conducted on

This is a
two-story
home which consists of
four
bedrooms and
three
bathrooms, Kitchen, Living Room, Day Care Space, and detached garage. Areas used by the children include the Day Care Space (entire rear of the home) and Bathroom 1 (located in Day Care Space). Per Licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include
front of home and entire upstairs which include Kitchen, Living Room, all bedrooms, and two bathrooms. At 12:03 PM, LPA observed a pocket door with a lock separating front of home from Day Care Space and bottom of stairs to have operable baby gate making upstairs off limits to children in care at time of inspection.
At 11:49 AM, LPA observed outdoor play area to be side and back yard of home. LPA observed outdoor play area to be accessible through sliding glass doors in rear and side of the Day Care Space. LPA observed outdoor play area to have adequate perimeter fencing through out, concrete flooring, and an area with cushioning material well maintained where plastic play structure, infant climbing, and crawling area available. LPA observed child appropriate seating, plastic ride along toys, tricycles, plastic dramatic play house, art easel, and other toys available for children in outside play area that are well maintained.

All areas identified on the facility sketch as accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for the safety of the children. LPA observed an AC window unit in Day Care Space. There is a working telephone maintained in the home. At 11:53 AM, LPA observed Day Care Space to have learning stations with shelves filled with toys for dramatic play, building blocks, and musical instruments and other age appropriate toys free of loose and sharp parts available. LPA observed area of home for infants with infant appropriate table and chairs, soft play blocks, and other infant toys
available free of loose and sharp parts. Licensee serves food to children in care. LPA observed a Kitchenette in corner of Day Care Space and children transitioning to lunch time during inspection. At 11:55 AM, LPA observed Bathroom 1 that children will use to have operable toilet and sink, adequate hand washing supplies, under cabinet sink to be free of hazards, and general area safety and sanitation at time of inspection. LPA observed a changing table in front of Bathroom 1. LPA observed electrical cover outlets all through the home. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which can pose a danger to children are inaccessible. At 11:57 AM, LPA observed a high cabinet with a lock by Bathroom 1 for the storage of cleaning equipment and any medicines. LPA observed additional cleaning solutions stored under sink cabinet with operable child safety lock at time of inspection. The Licensee was advised that inaccessibility of hazards must be constantly reassessed depending on the children in care.
At 12:01 PM, LPA observed the valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged with service tag dated 05/10/2023. LPA tested smoke and carbon monoxide detector and observed to be in operable condition at time of inspection.
LPA observed First Aid kit stored on top of desk in Day Care Space and was inventoried for necessary supplies.
Licensee states isolation area for sick children is by Licensee desk near sliding glass door.

\342\200\224Children records and required licensing forms were discussed as well as mandated child abuse reporting and criminal record clearance requirement.
Per Licensee, there are no weapons, firearms in the home and there are no bodies of water around the premises. LPA observation did not see any bodies of water or weapons/firearms around the premises.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS)
policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. Licensee (or facility representative) was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Rooms that are off-limits need to be made inaccessible during operating hours. NO smoking, NO infant walkers, NO Johnny jumpers, NO saucer chairs, NO incline sleepers and any other item that falls into that category are permitted in the facility.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee
and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at

as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee
of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
The facility was found in compliance per Title 22 regulations, there will be no deficiencies cited today, 05/23/2023.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee, Maria Sedano.
