What the inspector wrote
Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) R. Derraco conducted an unannounced annual inspection to the above facility on 06/05/25. LPA arrived at the facility at 9:30 AM and met with licensee Genesis Henriquez, who guided analyst on a tour. Also present during this inspection was an assistant. Per Licensee, there are 10 children that are currently enrolled. There were 9 children present upon arrival, 2 of which are infants.
This is a one-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, family room, living room, a detached garage, front yard (fenced) and backyard (fenced). The off limit areas include 4 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living room, kitchen, and part of the back yard.
The main care are is located in family room. LPA observed 8 pack-n-play playpens, age appropriate toys, children's reading material, and a television. A tension gate was observed at the entrance of the family room making the kitchen walkway inaccessible. Another tension gate was observed at the second entrance of the kitchen and in the hallway leading to the off limit bedrooms. The bathroom was observed to be clean with an operable sink, faucet and toilet. The front yard was observed with additional age appropriate toys, outdoor play equipment and perimeter fencing. The backyard play area was also observed with perimeter fencing, outdoor play equipment and toys. Off-limit areas of the the backyard was observed to have a fence making the section inaccessible. Per licensee, the outdoor play area is cleaned prior to usage, as it is also used for two pet dogs. LPA observed the 2 pet dogs are kept separate from the children in care. They are either kept in the backyard when the children are inside, or in the off limits living room. The licensee states that she provides food for children in care. Licensee was reminded that children whom bring food from home must have containers individually labelled and properly stored or refrigerated. Per licensee, isolation area for children showing signs of illness will be located in the living room while they await pick up from their
authorized representative. LPA did not observe the following items during the inspection: Infant Walkers, Johnny Jumpers, Saucer Chairs. Emergency Disaster Plan, Parent\342\200\231s Rights Poster and the Facility License were observed to be posted on the wall next to the bathroom.
Individuals who reside in the home were noted and discussed. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety,
comfort, and cleanliness. There is telephone service via a landline. Per Licensee, the home is equipped with central heating and air conditioning. The licensee understands that storage areas for poisons must be locked, not just made inaccessible. The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was serviced on 03/05/25, as indicated on service tag. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable. LPA did not observe any objects that can pose a danger to children in care. No bodies of water were observed in the back yard play area. Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in the home. Smoking is prohibited in a licensed Family Child Care Home. Per Licensee, no one smokes in the home.
The licensee and other personnel have completed training on preventive health practices including Pediatric First Aid and CPR. The licensee's Pediatric First Aid and CPR expires on 02/2026.
LPA observed that the Licensee and assistant has proof of the Mandated Reporter AB 1207 compliant Child Care Training Certificate on file.
File review was observed to have proper mandated immunization records. Children\342\200\231s records were reviewed, including emergency information and were observed to be complete. A current children\342\200\231s roster was available for review.
LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at

as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices
on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
During the exit interview, the licensee, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.

At this time, the licensee is in compliance with California Code of Regulations Title 22. No deficiencies cited.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
