What the inspector wrote

On June 9, 2021 at 12:30PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dayna Chambers arrived at the above facility to conduct an unannounced annual random inspection. LPA was greeted by Rudy Rodriguez upon arrival to the facility. At 12:45PM, Rudy Rodriguez and LPA Chambers toured the above facility inside and outside of the facility. The current operating hours are: Monday Friday: 6:45am to 6:00pm The facility has five classrooms. There were 37 children present today upon arrival. Classroom Pollywogs (1) - 3 children, Classroom Kangaroo (2) - 3 children, Classroom Kinder (3) -12 children, Classroom Leaping Lizards (4) - 10 children, Classroom Puddle Ducks (5) \342\200\223 9 Children. The current total of children enrolled is 37. LPA observed that there was 4 teachers and 1 assistant present. . LPA observed all posting requirements for operation on the posting board LIC 203A-License, LIC-9213-Notice of site visit, LIC 610 A-Emergency Disaster Plan, LIC 9148-Earthquake Preparedness Check List, PUB 394-Notification of parent\342\200\231s rights poster, LIC 613A- Personal Rights, PUB 269- Child Car Seat Law, Menus, and Activity Schedule. The facility obtained current pediatric CPR and First Aid for all facility staff members and are posted in all classrooms. All center staff that was present during today\342\200\231s visit had fingerprint cleared and associated to the designated license number. belongings, isolation area was inspected. Page 1 cont LPA observed staff has proof of immunization against influenza, pertussis, measles, and TB clearances. LPA observed that staff has proof of the Mandated Reporter AB 1207 compliant Child Care Training Certificate on file. LPA inspected the furniture and equipment for age appropriateness and good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting and ventilation were evaluated. Storage for children's belongings, isolation area was inspected. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability, good repair, water temperature, toilet paper, paper towels, area safety and sanitation. LPA observed the children\342\200\231s restrooms do not have hot water turned on in sinks. All classrooms have trash cans with tight lids. First aid supplies are available. LPA observed the fire extinguisher located in each classroom. LPA observed the fire extinguisher meets requirements - 2A:10BC. The fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was serviced on 02/10/2021 by Fire Protection, Inc. (Bob Peters), as indicated on service invoice. LPA observed that the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested by licensee and are operable. LPA observed the emergency disaster drill was conducted at least once every month. The center is hooked up to the fire department (Fire Alarm). The alarms are serviced annually. The facility roster was up to date and fire and emergency disaster drills were conducted monthly. Emergency disaster plan is updated and reflected to the current operation. Children and staff records Children\342\200\231s records were reviewed and are complete. Page 2 cont. Food, Meals, Snacks, & Beverages for children are currently provided by the parents due to COVID 19 restrictions. Water is accessible via water dispenser containers and cups. The water fountain is inoperable due to COVID 19 restrictions. LPA observed the outdoor play areas which are fenced in and free from defects or dangerous conditions. The yard was clean with age appropriate safe toys and appropriate shading. Three playground areas were inspected. Equipment was inspected for safety, cushioning material, good repair and age appropriateness. LPA observed drinking water was provided. Play area was inspected for hazards and inaccessibility to bodies of water. There are no weapons on the premises. This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. A review of medication policy, including administering, labeling, storage, and records was made. Sign in and out sheet procedures were reviewed. Page 3 cont. LPA observed during today\342\200\231s inspection that facility is in compliance with California Code of Regulations Title 22. No deficiencies cited. The Notice of Site Visit (LIC 9213) \342\200\223 must remain posted for 30 days during the hours of operation after each site visit made by a licensing representative . Failure to maintain posting as required will result in a civil penalty of $100.00. Exit interview was conducted with Rudy Rodriguez, Director, including, but not limited to Appeal Procedures, Site Visit and Initial Appeal Rights.
