Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

Regarding the allegation that staff do not meet infants’ dietary needs: LPA conducted interviews with staff and complainants. Staff #4 (S4) disclosed that S4 has observed bottles being propped 2 times before. Complainant #1 stated that “some babies are put in the half-donut pillows alone, they have a blanket on their chest that holds the bottle.” Complainant #2 stated that “they lay the babies on the floor in the middle of a donut-shaped pillow, they have blankets around the infants’ necks that hold up the bottles.” This agency has investigated the allegation that staff do not meet infants’ dietary needs – specifically that bottles were being propped up to feed the infants. Based on interviews conducted by LPA, the preponderance of the evidence standard has been met, therefore the above allegation is found to be SUBSTANTIATED. Technical Violation Note provided. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. An exit interview was conducted with Director Melani Abeyratne. Page 2
