What the inspector wrote

On January 29, 2026, at 11:15 am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Priscilla Ochoa conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection due to an incident that was reported to the Department on 01/23/2026. LPA met with Director, Veronica Brenes who guided LPA on a tour of the facility. This is a preschool program which operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. LPA observed 40 preschool aged children and 10 staff members. On January 23, 2026, it was self-reported to the department that the facility had 2 children with confirmed cases of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Child 1 (C1) and Child 2 (C2). C1 and C2 are both in the same classroom, Room 102. Per director, C1 attended the facility on Friday, 01/16/2026 and did not show or experience any symptoms. Per director, the parent informed the facility that C1 started to experience respiratory and congestion symptoms on Monday, 01/19/2026 and was taken to the hospital, where confirmed case of RSV was diagnosed. The staff members in room 102 performed a deep clean of the toys and materials that the children use to ensure their health and safety. C1 last attended the facility on 01/16/2026. On Tuesday, 01/20/2026, the director noticed that C2 was experiencing a minor fever at the time C2 was going home. The parent of C2 expressed that they will keep C2 home for preventative measures. On Friday, 01/23/2026, the parent of C2 informed the facility the C2 was taken to see a physician that confirmed RSV diagnoses. C2 last attended the facility on 01/20/2026. The facility emailed an exposure notice to all enrolled parents in Room 102 on 01/23/2026 and provided parents with resources on what to look for when observing their children for RSV symptoms. The facility\342\200\231s janitorial service conducted a deep cleaning in room 102 on 01/23/2026 and staff continued to follow their sanitation procedures to ensure all areas are kept clean. Page 1 of 2 C1 and C2 sought medical attention and are cleared to return to the facility as of 02/02/2026 with no RSV symptoms. The director confirmed that there are no additional cases reported. LPA provided and reviewed public health resources with director to ensure preparedness for any future communicable disease exposures. LPA confirmed that the facility is in compliance with title 22 regulations and health and safety code. No deficiencies being cited at this time. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Director, Veronica Brenes. Page 2 of 2
