What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susann Sanchez conducted an unannounced case management - lead exceedance inspection at the above facility. There were 17 children with four staff present. LPA discuss with the facility water lead test results sampled on 01/15/25. LPA discuss with the facility water lead test results sampled on 01/15/25. Results show that a water source in the facility had Action Level Exceedance (ALE) of lead. The sink faucet (D) located in the classroom 3, (inaccessible to children in care) had a lead result of 7.6 parts per billion (ppb). A result with values of 5.5 parts per billion (ppb) or greater shall be deemed an Action Level Exceedance in accordance with the Lead Testing Written Directives section 101700.3 subsection (b)(1). Per Director, the sink faucet in the classroom has not been since 2020. Classroom has been closed since 2020 due to low enrollment. LPA observed classroom to be closed off. Facility is still working with City of Carson/ State of California to be meet the written directive for lead testing in water. Lead testing will be redone once the Licensed Plumber changes the hose and connecting items. LPA provided LIC 9275 External Water Sampler Self - Certification Form, LIC 9276 Child Care Center Sampling Checklist Form, and LIC Facility Sketch. LPA took photo of the sink. Per Director, a copy of the test results will be provided to licensing when they are received. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Facility Representative A. Herrera. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.

Lead test results showed that one water sources have an action level exceedance. LPA observed water sources are inaccessible to children.
