What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Anomeh Eivazian conducted an unannounced case management- Licensee initiated inspections on 06/10/2022 at 12:10 PM. LPA met with Shamalie Goonewardene, Licensee. At this time they have a capacity of 27 preschoolers and which to decrease to 15. This is a preschool program which consists of 1 classroom. There is also an infant program on site with facility 198019891. The preschool program operates Monday \342\200\223 Friday from 7:00 AM \342\200\223 5:30 PM. Areas measured is one classroom and also measured was the entire outside play area. Parents enter the facility through the main entrance door which leads to the classroom hallway. All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. Upon arrival, LPA met with licensee, Shamalie Goonewarded who guided LPA to the office area. At 12:30 p.m. Licensee took this LPA on a tour of the facility. LPA was toured through the interior starting with Preschool classroom. LPA observed two staff with 12 preschoolers getting ready for nap. The facility was observed to be within the license capacity and limitations. All children were observed to be under visual supervision of a teacher at all times. Age appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability and good repair in the restroom. LPA observed 1 Toilet and 1 sink is in the preschool classroom . General sanitation was observed. Availability of indoor drinking water was observed in the classroom. Per licensee, children use their water bottles indoor. Per licensee, isolation area is staff room and ill child will use the staff bathroom. The licensee states that there are no bodies of water on the premises and LPA did not observe any bodies of water during this inspection. Director states there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. REPORT CONTINUES ON NEXT PAGE 1 OF 2 Outdoor playground equipment is in a safe condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained in a safe condition and is free of hazards. All areas around or under high climbing equipment, slides, and similar equipment are cushioned with cushioning material that absorbs a fall. There is adequate shade in the play yard. Availability of outdoor drinking water was observed. Per licensee, children bring use their water bottlers outside. LPA advised that no children shall be left without the supervision of a teacher at any time. Based on LPA measurements taken on this date and observations of the facility, the total indoor capacity of the preschool classroom can accommodate 15 preschool children. The measurements obtained for the entire outdoor space can accommodate a total of 16 preschool children. The Department has received an approved Fire Clearance from the Arcadia County Fire Department on 05/06/2022 for capacity of 15. At this time, the licensee is in compliance with California Title 22 Regulations. Therefore, there are no citations being issued today. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
