What the inspector wrote
On 08/12/25 at 01:01pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Diana Ortiz conducted an Unannounced Annual Random inspection to the above facility. Upon arrival, LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and met with Licensee, Evelia Gonzalez who guided the LPA on a tour of the facility. Adults in the home were discussed, and all have criminal record clearance. There were six day care children present during today\342\200\231s inspection. Licensee states that there are currently seven children enrolled. The children's roster was reviewed and is current. Per licensee, the facility\342\200\231s hours of operation are Monday through from 7am-4:30pm. Emergency Disaster Plan, License, and Parents\342\200\231 Rights were posted at the time of inspection. Disaster drill log was also available during today\342\200\231s inspection, last disaster drill conducted on 05/01/25. LIC 126 was provided.
This is a one-story single-family home which consists of a living room, dining area, family room, kitchen, garage, front yard, back yard, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
Areas used by children were inspected as follows
: family room, 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and back yard.
Areas off limits include
: 3 bedrooms, 2-bathrooms, front yard, living room, kitchen, dining area and garage. Per licensee, off limit areas are also locked during operating hours, LPA observed doors to be locked. Child who becomes ill will be kept in the bedroom until parent\342\200\231s pick-up. There is currently a fireplace, but it is locked with a glass door and per Licensee it is not being used.
All areas identified on the facility sketch as accessible to children were inspected to ensure that they are clean and orderly with ventilation and heating for the safety of the children.

There is a working telephone maintained in the home. LPA observed age-appropriate toys, free of loose and sharp parts. LPA observed electrical cover outlets all through the home. The combo smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are working properly. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items, which could pose a danger, were determined to be inaccessible to children in care during this inspection. Medication and knives are kept in kitchen cabinets out of the reach of children. Cleaning supplies are kept in the hallway in a cabinet that is locked with a child proof lock. Licensee states that there are no poisons in the home and LPA did not observe any poisons at time of inspection. Licensee does understand that poison must be locked. Licensee was advised that inaccessibility of hazards must be constantly reassessed depending on the children in care. Personal Rights of children were observed by LPA at time of inspection.
Currently, children are using the back yard for outdoor play time. The outdoor play area was observed to be enclosed with a concrete wall and iron gate. LPA advised Licensee that outdoor supervision is required at all times. LPA observed age-appropriate toys free of loose and sharp parts available for the children in the backyard and all trees, shrubs, and plants are maintained.
Per licensee, she provides breakfast, lunch and PM snack for children in care. Safe sleep was discussed, and LPA provided safe sleep documentation and PIN 20-24 CCP Safe Sleep. Licensee currently has one child under the age of 24 months. Licensee stated that she supervises the children while napping and provided documentation of the 15-minute sleep log for the children under 24 months. Per Licensee, there are no weapons, firearms in the home and there are no bodies of water around the premises. LPA did not observe any bodies of water around the premises or firearms/weapons at time of inspection.
The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates it was serviced. State Fire Marshall standards, state that fire extinguisher shall be service annually. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are in operable condition. Per Licensee, First Aid kit is kept in the kitchen on the top cabinet, LPA observed First Aid kit and was inventoried for necessary supplies. The Licensee has current Pediatric First Aid and CPR. Proof of immunization against influenza, pertussis, and measles was readily available during today\342\200\231s inspection. The Licensee has also taken the Mandated Reporter Training.

\342\200\224Children records and required licensing forms were discussed as well as mandated child abuse reporting and criminal record clearance requirement.
The following were discussed:
Rooms that are off-limits need to be made inaccessible during operating hours. NO smoking, NO infant walkers, NO Johnny jumpers, NO saucer chairs, NO incline sleepers and any other item that falls into that category are permitted in the facility. Effective January 1, 2010, licensees of family childcare homes are required to ensure that at least one staff member with current training in pediatric first aid and pediatric CPR is on site at all times when children are present.
LPA reviewed and issued the LIC 311D - Forms/Records to Keep in Your Family Child Care Home. Mandatory Forms for the children\342\200\231s files and staff files, requirements for fire drills, earthquake drills and documentation were discussed. Role and responsibilities of being a Mandated Reporter were reviewed. The Licensee was advised how to access forms and Regulations online at
www.ccld.ca.gov
. Licensee was made aware that it is his/her responsibility to know the regulations as well as anyone who assists in providing care.

Licensee (or facility representative) was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at

as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

MyChildCarePlan.org \342\200\223 Centers and Family Child Care Homes Licensee [or facility representative] was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
During the exit interview, Licensee confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
Based on Licensing staff observations and records review, no deficiencies are being cited, licensee is in compliance with California Code of Regulations Title 22.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
