Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

The complaint alleges that a child in care sustained scratches and bumps at the facility, however the licensee could not explain how the child sustained the injuries. During interviews conducted, Licensee stated she has constant supervision of all children in care and reports injuries to parents by text or verbally. Parents interviewed stated their children have not received any unexplained injuries while at the daycare. Allegation #2: Licensee did not report incidents to appropriate parties According to the complaint the Licensee does not report children's injuries received at the daycare to a parent or guardian. During interviews conducted, Licensee stated parents are notified of injuries received at the day care by text or verbally. Parents interviewed stated they are happy with the care and supervision their children receive at the facility and the Licensee notifies them when their child receives an injury at the child care facility. Allegation #3: Licensee has 15-year-old supervise children while licensee is away from the home The complaint alleges Licensee leaves her 15 year old daughter to supervise children when Licensee is away from the home. During interviews conducted, Licensee, her two teen-age children, and Licensee's spouse stated that while the licensee has left for brief periods and Licensee's daughter is present in the home, Licensee's spouse is supervising the children at all times in her absence. Although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur, therefore the allegations are unsubstantiated. There were no deficiencies cited on the above-mentioned allegations per California Code of Regulations Title 22. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee, Karla German. Page 2 of 2
