What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stephanie Li conducted a Case Management - Licensee Initiated visit for the purpose of evaluating a request for playground waiver to share the preschool outdoor activity lower yard and upper yard with the toddler age program and the school age program on staggered schedules. Facility has a provisional license based on playground waiver requirement. LPA met with Director Carina Hu, who guided LPA on a tour. There are 20 children and 10 teachers. Per Director, there are 27 children total enrolled in infant, toddler and preschool programs. There are currently 0 enrolled in school age. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 7:30am- 5:30pm. Appropriate ratios and supervision were observed. During today\342\200\231s visit, upper and lower yards were observed, structure and equipment in upper yard were observed for age appropriateness for 1-4 year olds. There is one play structure appropriate for toddlers and preschoolers. Photos of lower yard, upper yard, and structures and equipment were captured. During visit, LPA requested outdoor schedules for all components sharing the lower and upper yards (toddler, preschool, and school age). Play schedules for toddlers, preschool, and school ages reflect designated yards used at staggered times for specific age groups was obtained during visit. Facility sketch with labeled lower and upper yard was obtained. Revised waiver letter request to include shared space with school age was also obtained. page 1 of 2 LPA consulted with Carina about future capacity increase to accommodate increase of school age children for school age summer camp program and capacity increase for toddler age after the summer. Per discussion, summer plans are to designate lobby, current infant tinakot rm 1, enclosed nap room, current toddler room and atrium to school age spaces to accommodate the capacity (45 school age) for school age summer camp. During the summer, (20 infants) infant tinakot rm 2 and current directors office will be designated for infants ages (0-2) and parents will conduct drop off, pick up and sign in from left gate entrance. Rooms Yeledim 1 and Yelidim 2 will be designated for 31 preschoolers ages (2-5) during the summer. Per discussion, after summer plans, current (20 infants) Infant tinekot rm 1 and 2 will return to infant use. Directors office return to director use. Current Yelidim 1 will be designated for (16) toddlers, ages (18-36 mths). Current room Yelidim 2 and current Paotot room will be designated for (28) preschoolers to use. LPA advised Director to submit capacity change request along with labeled designated spaces on facility sketch, updated personnel report LIC500 and updated emergency disaster plan. LPA observed that preschool play ground is developmentally appropriate for toddler age children and school age children. Playground waiver and waiver request will be submitted to (LPM) Licensing Program Manager and (RM) Regional Manager review and approval. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
