What the inspector wrote
Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Ashley Calderon conducted unannounced annual random visit and met with Licensee Kimberly Britt. LPA disclosed the purpose of the inspection and was granted entry into the facility by Licensee.
Licensee along side with LPA conducted a guided tour of the facility. During time of visit there was a total of 2 staff (including Licensee) and 7 children (included 1 infant). Per Licensee, hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm and does not to exceed 24 hour care at one time. Licensee states cares for children ages: Infants -10 years of age.
This is a two-story home which consists of 5 bedroom, 3 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, family room, learning/ nap room (bedroom), nap room (bedroom), garage, front yard and backyard (fenced). The children use the bathroom attached to the learning room. Per Licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: personal 2 bedroom, living room, kitchen, family room, garage, 2 bathroom, half of the backyard and front yard. On limit areas for children are: the learning room and the nap room and half of backyard.
LPA observed at 1:13pm Child #4 sleeping in the back napping bedroom in a play pen with an attached pacifier, deficiemcy cited. . LPA observed the outdoors. The backyard is split into two sections and the children use the section on the left side of the home. Per Licensee, there are no weapons or firearms premises. In the off- limit section of the backyard, LPA observed an above ground jacuzzi. The Jacuzzi was gated. The jacuzzi has a lid/cover that is strong enough for an adult to walk on, this area is off limit to children. Per Licensee, children are supervised outside at all times, outside area is fully gated for safety.All areas identified on the facility sketch that children use, were inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service via mobile, ventilation and heating (central). Home has a staircase that is located in an off limit room, which remains inaccessible to the children. Chemicals, detergents, medication and sharps are all inaccessible to children in care. Per Licensee, poisons are stored in the garage that maintains locked. LPA advised Licensee to ensure poisons need to remain locked and not only inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed and reviewed required posted documentation for Facility License, Publication (PUB) 394- Notification of Parent Rights and Licensing Form (LIC) 9148- Earthquake Preparedness form posted outside in the area that parents enter from. Facility records were reviewed for LIC 9040- Facility Roster, LIC 610- Facility Disaster Plan and Disaster drill log, last drill conducted on 6/13/24. (2) Staff Records and (5) children records were reviewed by LPA. Child #4 did not have in their file LIC9227 Individual Sleep Plan, Licensee was unable to provide LPA with documentation requested, deficiency cited. Child #6 has medication present in the facility. Per Licensee, only one child is administered medication, if needed. All other children records had appropriate documentation's. LPA Calderon during record review observed Staff #2 did not have mandated reporter certificate training. Licensee
during recorded review had Mandated Reporter Certificate exp 8/14/25 / Pediatric First Aid/ CPR expires 9/2025.
Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are operable. The 2A10BC fire extinguisher was last inspected on 08/11/2023, LPA reminded Licensee to inspect fire extinguisher yearly. The home is observed to be clean and orderly. There are toys and other age appropriate material available for children. LPA observed a family pet dog.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at

as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at

and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services \342\200\223 IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children\342\200\231s, personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see

Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
During the exit interview, the Licensee, confirmed th
at there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.
Based on today\342\200\231s visit, Per California Code of Regulation Title 22 there were (3) deficiencies cited on todays visit, provided on LIC 809-D.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days and appeal rights provided.
