What the inspector wrote

cleaning supplies and/or hazardous materials stored in cabinets and drawers with safety latches. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Keneisha Dunlap conducted an Unannounced Annual Inspection at the above facility. LPA Dunlap announced the purpose of the visit and was granted entry into the facility by Director-Shirley Jones . The Director, Shirley Jones arrived a few minutes later after LPA's arrived and provided a guided tour of the facility with LPA's. This is program is for 3 years to 5 years. There are 31 children enrolled, and 25 children present at the time of inspection, and 7 teachers. The hours of operation are Monday- Friday from 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM. All adults at the facility were discussed and background and fingerprinted cleared. LPA observed all posting requirements for operation on the licensing board LIC 203A-License, LIC 610A, PUB 393 LIC 9040, PUB 269, LIC 9148, LIC 500, LIC 613A, Menus, Activity Schedule, and completion testing and remediated lead exceedances. Documentation of current Fire & Earthquake drill was observed with last drill on 10/23/24. Fire extinguisher observed with a tag date of 9/25/24. LPA observed a operable smoke detector, and carbon monoxide detector. The center has a HVAC system throughout the facility. LPA Dunlap observed an inventoried first aid kit. LPA Dunlap observed sign in and out sheets for all classrooms with all required signatures. All 3 classrooms have age appropriate toys and furniture as well as a carpeted areas, library, arts & crafts, Page 1 of 4 manipulative play, and dramatic play areas. LPA observed the furniture and equipment in good condition, free of sharp, not loose, or pointed parts and carpet area clean. All trash cans have tight fitting lids. All cleaning supplies are stored in cabinets with safety latches. All bathrooms to have age appropriate sinks and toilets. All bathrooms were found clean and in good working good condition. Facility uses water bottles with children names and water is supplied through a filter in the kitchen. All electrical outlets are covered. All trash cans had lids. First Aid supplies were inventoried. The outside playground has a soft surface for children to play and age appropriate toys. LPA observed the outdoor area and outdoor equipment in good condition, free of sharp, not loose, or pointed parts. The kitchen area is inaccessible to children with a door separating the kitchen from the hallway area. The kitchen area is clean and all equipment in good and working condition. Shelf food items has been labeled with mask tape on outside of labels and jars with dates. All food in refrigerator and freezer have been labeled with dates written with a marker, and/or mask tape with date on the outside. There were no expired or rotten food found at the time of the inspection. Expired Mandated -This poses a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care. A Technical Violation will be issued. Staff # 2 All required licensing documents and immunization record in file Mandated Child Abuse Reporter Certificate- Expiration date of 3/18/25 CPR & First Aid- Expiration date of 3/18/25 Page 2 of 2 All course accreditations in file. Staff # 3 All required licensing documents and immunization record in file Mandated Child Abuse Reporter Certificate- Expiration date of 4/9/26 CPR & First Aid- Expiration date of 8/17/26 All course accreditations in file. Children Files Child #1 All required licensing documents and immunization record in file. Child #2 All required licensing documents and immunization record in file. Child #3 All required licensing documents and immunization record in file. The children do nap and the cots are stored in the classroom and/or adjacent restrooms. The isolation area is located in the Directors office. The Director stated they do not have children that they administer medication to at this time. If children were to have medications that need to be administered there is a lockbox located in classroom. The Director stated there are no firearms at the facility. The Director stated that there are no smokers at the facility. The Director stated that they do not provide transportation for children. There are no large bodies of water on premises. Criminal Record Clearance - Child Care Centers Director, Shirley Jones was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. MyChildCarePlan.org Director, Shirley Jones was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. 1 Technical Violation issued during todays inspection. Appeal rights reviewed and given to the Director, Shirley Jones.
