What the inspector wrote

The Licensee speak partial English. LPA Dunlap offered Translation Services. The Licensee has the Assistant- Ingrid Mejia translate. On May 30, 2025, at 9:10a.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Keneisha Dunlap arrived at the above facility for the purpose of an unannounced Annual Inspection. LPA Dunlap announced the purpose of the visit and was granted entry into the facility by Licensee- Jose Amaya. There are 23 children enrolled, and 3 children present at the time of inspection. The hours of operation are Monday- Sunday from 12:00am-12:00pm. All adults in the home were discussed and background and fingerprinted cleared. License, earthquake disaster checklist (LIC9148), disaster plan, and PUB 394 posted. The Licensee does have current LIC 9040 (facility roster) A disaster drill log with last drill conducted on 1/8/25. This is two story home that consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry area, front yard and fenced backyard. The off-limit areas include 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, backyard area, and garage living space. The living room area is the main care area. LPA Dunlap observed the area to have mounted TV, couch, soft furnishings for relaxation, dramatic play, books, highchair, changing station, cubbies, age-appropriate toys and age-appropriate table and chairs. LPA observed all furnishings, equipment, and material to be in good condition. The bedroom room area is the main care area. LPA Dunlap observed the area to have couch, 3 playpens, cots, and a highchair. LPA observed all furnishings, equipment, and material to be in good condition. Page 1 of 4 LPA Dunlap observed the kitchen area is inaccessible to children with baby gate making it inaccessible to children in care. LPA Dunlap observed a stairway that leads to the off-limits area to have a baby gate blocking off the entry of the from the main care area. LPA Dunlap observed the bathroom with an operable toilet and sink. The cabinets, drawers, and shower doors have safety latches making it inaccessible to children in care. LPA Dunlap observed the outdoor area, which is the front yard to have small artificial grass area, age-appropriate toys, picnic tables, balls, dramatic play, small slide with soft mats, tykes, and mobile cars. LPA observed all furnishings, equipment, and material to be in good condition. LPA observed outdoor area to be in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. LPA Dunlap observed a fire system with a pull down alarm with siren near the front door. LPA observed a fire extinguisher with receipt date of 5/5/25. LPA observed a dual smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector to be operable. The Licensee stated that they do provide meals for children. The Licensee stated they use a cell phone. The Licensee stated they do not have any children that they administer medication to at this time. The Licensee stated that when children are sick, they are placed in the bedroom area. The Licensee stated there are no firearms in the home. The Licensee stated that there are no smokers in the home. The Licensee stated that they do not provide transportation for children. Page 2 of 4 The Licensee stated that they do have a first aid kit. The Licensee stated that they do provide nap time. Playpens and mats are stored in the bedroom area. The Licensee stated that there are no large bodies of water on the premises. The Licensee does not have any pets on the premises. Staff Files: Staff # 1 File has all required licensing documents and immunization record in folder CPR & First Aid expiration date of 9/7/26 Mandated Reporter expiration date of 7/29/26 Children\342\200\231s Files Staff # 2 File has all required licensing documents and immunization record in folder CPR & First Aid expiration date of 2/18/27 Mandated Reporter expiration date of 9/7/26 Health & Safety Certificate Child #1 All required licensing forms and immunization record in file. For additional information regarding the inspection and its tools and methods, please visit the Program website at www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/community-care-licensing/inspection-process Page 3 of 4 Licensee- Jose Amaya was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Licensee- Jose Amaya and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Licensee- Yvette Gordan of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee- Jose Amaya was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, the Licensee- Jose Amaya confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. No deficiencies cited during today\342\200\231s visit. Appeal rights explained and given to Licensee- Jose Amaya. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee- Jose Amaya. Page 4 of 4
