What the inspector wrote

Due to technical difficulties, FAS would not load. LPA provided a handwritten LIC809 during the visit. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dayna Chambers conducted an unannounced Case Management. The Licensee is requesting to increase to a Large Family Child Care with a capacity of 12-14 children. A fire clearance was granted on 05/14/2024 by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Licensee provided tour of facility. Per licensee, the hours of operation are Monday to Sunday 6:30am to 6:00pm. LPA inspected rooms/areas on the facility sketch in which child-care services are provided and to which children have access. Individuals residing in the home were discussed and noted. There were 4 children present upon arrival. including 3 infants. Also present was Salani Hewa Marabage, licensee's assistant adults present have received the required background clearance for a family daycare home. This is a single-story home that consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 restrooms, living room, kitchen, laundry area, attached garage, front yard and backyard (fenced).Areas used by children include Living room (main childcare area), kitchen area, bathroom (in the hallway), and backyard. Areas off limits include: All three (3) bedrooms, laundry room, master bathroom room, attached garage and front yard. LPA observed off-limits bedrooms to be closed and locked. Licensee does understand that licensing staff may have access to off-limit areas during inspection visit if necessary.LPA observed emergency supplies, Aid Kit available in the daycare area, 2A10BC Fire Extinguisher was last serviced on 08/22/2023. Dual Smoke and carbon monoxide detector was tested and operable. Per licensee the last Fire/Emergency drill conducted Fire Drill on 05/13/2024. LPAs reviewed children and staff files. LPA was advised of the required documents needed for a qualified assistant. LPA provided a copy of the LIC 311D to assist with required documents.LPA discussed capacity limitations for a large Family Child Care license. Based on the LPA's observations and records review no deficiencies will be cited today in accordance with California Title 22 Regulations. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee, Nilani Marabage. Signatures collected on handwritten LIC809 document.
