What the inspector wrote

On August 12, 2024, at 9:00 am, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs), Elka Chavez & Tiffanie Tran conducted an announced Case Management inspection for an increase in capacity for the preschool component. Upon arrival, LPAs met with Facility Representative Loretta Gallegos. Applicant is requesting to be licensed for 68 preschoolers ages 3 to 5 in classrooms 1,2,3, and 4 and 64 toddlers ages 18 to 36 months in classrooms 5, 6, 7, 8,9,10,11, and 12 which will remain the same capacity as licensed on August 30, 2023. Hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 7:55 am to 3:00 pm. There were no children present during today\342\200\231s inspection. All indoor and outdoor activity space utilized for the children was inspected today. LPAs informed Loretta Gallegos that staff are required to maintain direct visual supervision of the children at all times during indoor and outdoor activities. At 9:20 am., LPAs continued to tour the facility and measured the new additional indoor activity space for the preschool children ages 3 to 5. Total indoor activity space measured 2709.45 square feet which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 68 preschool children. LPAs observed all indoor activity space to be complete with safe, age-appropriate furniture and equipment, including tables, chairs, cubbies, napping cots, bookshelves, and other activity supplies for the children. Drinking water is available in the classrooms via sink water. LPAs observed all hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. There are no bodies of water or weapons on the property. Fire clearance was granted on August 08, 2024. LPAs observed a total of 8 sinks and 6 toilets available for preschool children\342\200\231s use. These are sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity of 68 preschool children. The facility currently has a fully fenced playground area. Fencing is chain link and is at least four feet high. The total square footage for the preschool outdoor activity space is 8746.19 square feet, which is sufficient to accommodate the requested capacity. These measurements were taken on August 30, 2023. Shade is provided via shade sail. There are sufficient outdoor age-appropriate toys and play equipment available on the playground. There is a climbing structure on the playground for children ages 2 to 5 which is properly anchored. There is adequate cushioning in fall zones of climber provided by rubber matting. Drinking water is available via water jugs and disposable cups. LPAs observed all hazardous items on the playground to be inaccessible to children. Licensee Representative Loretta Gallegos was reminded that any changes to the facility must be reported to and approved by Community Care Licensing. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1- CCP). No corrections are needed. A license for 68 preschool children and 64 toddler children will be granted upon a final file review. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Facility representative, Loretta Gallegos. A notice of site visit was given to facility representative, Loretta Gallegos, and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
