What the inspector wrote

Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Portia Bowden conducted an unannounced case management inspection at the above facility. At 9:30AM LPA arrived to residence, met with Licensee Dena, explained the purpose for the visit, and was guided on a tour of the facility. Individuals residing in the home have been discussed and noted. All adults present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption. The purpose of today's inspection was to observe facility for capacity increase to a Large Family Child Care (FCCH). On 11/21/25 LPA received STD 850 granting facility fire clearance with no restrictions from the LA County Fire Department. Per Licensee she will use assistant Bria Scypion as needed to remain within capacity while operating. Per Licensee her assistant is 17 and she will have her fingerprinted 30 days prior to her 18th birthday. LPA observed a negative TB test dated 7/7/25 and a current mandated Reporter certificate exp 6/26/27 for Assistant Bria. LPA observed a current Mandated Reporter Certificate exp 6/26/27 and current Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certificate exp 1/26 for Licensee. LPA provided consultation to Licensee regarding T22 capacity rules for a Large FCCH. LPA observed 3 children in care including 2 infants. Per Licensee there are 7 children enrolled. Per Licensee hours of operation are 2AM-9PM Monday - Friday. Per Licensee no children in care require medication or have food allergies. LPA observed a small family dog in an offlimit bedroom, per licensee dog is not permitted to interact with children in care. Per Licensee she is apart of the food program and provides: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and two snacks. LPA observed 5 mats and 2 play pens for children in care. Per Licensee she washes all linens in the facility once a week and as needed. LPA observed restroom for children in care next to the daycare room to have no hazards to children in care and be adequatly stocked with tissue, hand washing soap and paper towels. Per Licensee she provides potty training. The home had adequate heating/cooling no hazards were observed in the facility. No deficiencies were observed during today's inspection. LPA observed the following corrections: Immunizations for Assistant Copy of Assistant ID A large Family Child Care Home license will be granted upon review by a Licensing Program Manager. Once licensed, the applicant is required to comply with the terms and limitations stated on the license. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee Dena Edwards . A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
