What the inspector wrote

On 7/17/25 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Portia Bowden conducted an unannounced Annual Inspection at the above facility. At 9:00AM LPA arrived to residence and met with Licensee Stefanie Alonzo, provided entrance check list and conducted a tour of the home. LPA observed no children in care during inspection. Per Licensee there are no children enrolled. Per Licensee hours of operation are 730AM-4:30PM Monday- Friday. Per Licensee she does provide transportation or overnight care. Per licensee she is not apart of the food program. Per Licensee she provides Breakfast, Lunch, and PM Snack. Per Licensee outside food is not permitted in the facility. Per Licensee she will not provide medication to children in care but will work out plan with parents in the event they need to administer medication to children in care. LPA observed documents on licensing board (Facility License (LIC 203), Notification of Parents' Rights Poster (PUB 394), (LIC9040), Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC610a). LPA observed Licensee\342\200\231s current Mandated Reporter certificate exp 1/26. LPA did not observe licensee\342\200\231s current ped CPR/First Aid Certification. Per Licensee she will obtain certificate prior to enrolling children. A technical violation will be issued. Individuals residing in the home have been discussed and noted. All adults present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption. All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. The following was observed reviewed during this inspection: This is a one-story home consisting of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room (main daycare area), kitchen, enclosed patio yard. Per Licensee areas off limits to children and parents include all 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Per licensee all medication and cleaning supplies are kept in a locked hallway cabinet. At 9:15AM LPA observed a lock at the top of the cabinet, making it inaccessible to children in care. At 9:30AM LPA observed a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher with a receipt dated 5/24 on the kitchen wall. Per Licensee she will have it serviced immediately. At 9:35AM LPA observed a functioning carbon monoxide and smoke detector on the living room wall. The home was observed to have proper ventilation and heating for safety and comfort. LPA observed no wall heaters in the home. Per Licensee there is a fireplace in one of the offlimit bedrooms that is not is use and out of reach to children in care. The home maintains telephone service via cell phone. Per licensee there are no firearms on the premises. Kitchen area was observed to be clean and free of clutter and have no sharp objects or chemical compounds accessible to children in care. LPA observed kitchen knives per licensee they are kept in a high kitchen cabinet inaccessible to children in care. Bathroom children use was observed to be clean and free of hazards. LPA observed bathroom sink cabinet with a child safety lock on it. Per Licensee she does provide potty training. At LPA observed age appropriate learning materials and toys in the daycare living room. LPA observed cots for sleeping. Per Licensee all linens are washed in the facility once a week and as needed. Outdoor Play for children in care is located in the enclosed patio. At 9:50AM LPA observed area to be shaded with age appropriate toys and no hazards to children in care. LPA observed no bodies of water on the premises of home. LPA observed a community pool approximately 1 mile from residence and documented findings on 812. No children\342\200\231s files were reviewed as there are no children enrolled. To improve the quality and value of the new inspection process, a survey may be sent to the email address provided. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. During the exit interview, Licensee Stefanie Alonzo confirmed there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the home. LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. No deficiencies were observed during today\342\200\231s inspection. 1 Technical Violation for CPR Certification was issued Exit interview conducted with Licensee Stefanie Alonzo, a notice of site visit were given and must remain posted for 30 days.
