Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On May 6, 2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) C Brannon met with Administrator, Carissa Cederblom. The purpose of today's case management inspection is to inspect the new play structure that is located in facility's front play yard. LPA verified that there is an age appropriate sticker stating that the play structure is for ages 2 to 5 years old. During today's inspection LPA reviewed with Administrator, Carissa Cederblom the following: 1) Metal car port is used as shade. The weather in Oakhurst can reach the high 90's and even in the 100's on days of extreme hot weather. The metal attracts the heat, which can make the area underneath hotter. Per Administrator Carissa Cederblom, she has been here for 10 years and car port has been used for the shade structure over the play equipment. LPA is recommending a different type of shade structure to be installed. 2) Licensee is utilizing artificial turf as cushioning. LPA requested a copy of the manufacturing specifications to ensure cushioning installed meets standard requirements. Per Administrator, Carissa Cederblom, her project manager will request the manufacturing specifications and will provide the specifications to LPA C Brannon. Upon receipt of the specifications, LPA will forward to management team. At this time, preschool children are not to use the newly installed play structure in the front play yard until approval from Community Care Licensing has been received. CONTINUED ON FOLLOWING PAGE During the inspection, LPA observed that facility was once licensed for toddler option. Per Administrator, facility did not have a toddler option when she was hired ten years ago. Currently, the preschool children are using the toddler option room. There are four rooms in the facility. To keep the capacity of 84 preschool children. A new inside facility sketch for all four rooms designated for preschool children. A new outside facility sketch for both outside play yards to be used for preschool children.
