Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On 09/16/2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Erica Pacheco conducted a Plan of Correction inspection. LPA met with Licensee Ana Maria Mendez who accompanied LPA on a tour of the home inside and outside. The purpose of today\342\200\231s inspection was to verify that the deficiency issued during the annual inspection on 08/13/2025 has been corrected. On 08/13/2025, the facility was issued a Type B citation in violation of California Code of Regulations 1596.814(a)(1)(A)(i) because the pool gate located in the backyard did not have a key lockable device, pool alarm in the pool, 12 foot rescue pole with body hook, and a life ring. Today, LPA Pacheco inspected the pool area and the pool gate is self-closing, self-latching with a key lockable device that is above 60 inches above the ground and opens away from the swimming pool. LPA tested the pool alarm and verified that is working properly. LPA also observed a 12 foot rescue pole with body hook and a life ring, however the life ring is not U.S. Coast Guard approved therefore does not meet the regulation requirement. LPA Pacheco spoke with Licensee and explained to the Licensee that the life ring will need to be replaced with one that is U.S. Coast Guard approved. Licensee will be purchased the correct life ring. LPA advised the Licensee that the deficiency could not be cleared during today's visit. The Licensee will contact LPA Pacheco when the correction is made. Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3 of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies were observed today. Exit interview conducted with Licensee Ana Maria Mendez. LIC 9213 Notice of Site Visit is provided and required to be posted for 30 days.
