What the inspector wrote

On 2/10/2025 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Brandon Tate conducted a Annual Random inspection for the preschool license. Upon arrival, LPA Tate was met by Director Anitra Peterson. Also present was Staff #1 and Staff #2. LPA Tate introduced himself and explained the reason for today\342\200\231s visit. The licensed facility was inspected inside and outside. Guardian background clearances were verified and discussed with Director Peterson. Record review showed a current fire clearance. A census was taken of children present. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 0700 to 1800 hours. LPA Tate inspected the licensed facility\342\200\231s indoor activity space. LPA Tate observed age-appropriate toys for children in care. The facility was maintained to regulatory standard cleanliness and LPA Tate did not observe any hazards or sharp objects that could potentially harm children in care. LPA Tate observed sufficient cubby space for children and personal belongings were kept separate. There was a functioning carbon monoxide alarm and fire extinguisher within the indoor activity space. Electrical outlets were observed to have plastic covers. LPA Tate observed drinking water accessible to children and record review showed that lead testing has not been conducted for the licensed facility. This poses a potential health, safety, and personal rights risk to persons in care. The child sign in/out form was correctly filled out with all relevant information. LPA Tate inspected the restroom and observed the restroom to be clean and sanitized. There were functioning sinks and toilets within that were temperature compliant with California Code of Regulations. LPA Tate observed sufficient toilet and sink ratio for children in care. LPA Tate did not observe any hazards that could potentially harm children in care. The outdoor activity area was inspected by LPA Tate and age-appropriate play structures were observed during today\342\200\231s inspection. The outdoor play area was fenced and at least 4 feet in height. There is no swimming pool or other bodies of water on the premises. Play structures were free from rust and debris and contained sufficient wood bark padding underneath the swings and play structure. There were no sharp or protruding objects observed. All play equipment was functional and contained no rust. A thorough file review was conducted on staff and children\342\200\231s files. LPA Tate reviewed a sample of children\342\200\231s files, and they were complete with necessary emergency contact information and all required forms were present and complete. LPA Tate conducted a file review for staff and observed all training to be current except all 3 staff did not have current mandated reporter training that adheres to AB1207. This poses a potential threat to the health, safety, and personal rights to persons in care. Staff files were complete with necessary forms and signed appropriately.
