What the inspector wrote

On January 30, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Garcia made a case management inspection to increase capacity of the school age program license number 210111538 in conjunction with an decrease capacity of preschool program, license number 213001939 and met with Site Manager, Alida Leon. This is a combination center with a preschool program, school-age program and infant program, operating at the same address. The Department received an application from the Licensee requesting an increase in capacity from 47 to 48 due to adding room #5 from the preschool program to the School-age program. The classroom that is added is room #5. There were no children present for the school age program during the visit. During the inspection, the facility was inspected for health and safety hazards. Indoor space is sufficient for up to a total of 48 children with 24 children in each classroom. The classroom has a centralized fire alarm, a smoke and carbon monoxide detector, and a fully charged fire extinguisher. There are age appropriate toys, furniture, and equipment available for children. There is a storage space for children's personal belongings. There are 3 sinks and 4 total toilets for rooms 5 and 6. Per staff, the TK, K and 1st grade children will be utilizing room 5. The outdoor space measures at approximately 7100 square feet. The yard consist of a gardening and sand area, multiple bikes to ride on with play structures for outdoor activity. The new school age classrooms with the addition of classroom #5 are now classrooms #5 and #6. F ire clearance was granted on 12/28/2023. The new maximum capacity of 48 will be effective as of today. No deficiencies are cited today under the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12. Notice of Site Visit is provided and must remain posted for 30 days. A copy of the report was reviewed and discussed with the Site Manager, Alida Leon.
