What the inspector wrote

On January 16, 2026 Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Garcia and Tran made an unannounced case management visit to the child day care facility listed above and met with site supervisor, Sue Perkins. Director, Caitlin Schmitt arrived at the facility at approximately 4:20pm and joined the visit. Purpose of the visit was explained to staff. The case management visit is for an unusual incident report that occurred on 12/11/2025. The facility had 28 children and 8 teachers, including the director, supervising the children at the time of visit. On the day of the incident, December 11, 2025, a child (C1) had been absent from the program and the director messaged C1's parent to check if C1 was okay. Text messages were sent between the mother of C1 and the director regarding the absence. LPAs interviewed the director regarding the incident and based on LPAs interview and observations, the director will be meeting with C1's mother to discuss the program and the next steps. LPAs observed C1 was present during today's visit with a therapist. No deficiencies were issued today under Title 22 Division 12 of the California Code of Regulations. A copy of this report was given to the Licensee and a site visit notification must be posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with director, Caitlin Schmitt.
