Inspector’s narrative
What the inspector wrote
On January 8, 2026. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Van conducted an annual inspection and met with the licensee\342\200\231s assistant, Laquisa Allen. The purpose of the inspection was explained, and the Licensee\342\200\231s assistant granted LPA entry to the home. Upon entering the house, LPA observed that all children were having free play. The licensee\342\200\231s assistant supervised 4 children (1 infant and 3 preschoolers). The licensee came home during the visit. The licensee complied with her license capacity and limitations.
All adults living and working in the home have record clearance verified through the CDSS Guardian Background Check System, and have an eligible clearance status on file.
According to the licensee, no changes to the previously approved child care areas.
The child care areas
are on the home's lower level, consisting of the living room, bathroom, and dining room.
The off-limit areas
are the entire upper Level of the house (Bedroom #1,#2,#3, and bathroom)
The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 06:30 AM - 6:30 PM.
LPA toured and inspected the facility to identify potential health and safety hazards. The facility is clean and well-organized. It maintains appropriate temperature, lighting, and ventilation. The Licensee offers a variety of age-appropriate toys and equipment. Children's furniture is sturdy and free of loose parts or sharp corners. The facility has a fully charged fire extinguisher with a minimum rating of 3A:40 BC, a smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector, and a functioning telephone. Electrical outlets have proper covers.

Cleaning products and disinfectants are stored out of children\342\200\231s reach. According to the licensee, there are no guns or other weapons, pools, spas, or bodies of water on the premises.
No cribs or playpens were observed. According to the licensee, she currently has only one infant enrolled in her program, and the child is sleeping on a sleep mat. LPA reviewed the infant safe sleep regulations with the licensee and reminded her that if she uses cribs or playpens in the future, she must ensure that all cribs or playpens are free of toys, blankets, or pillows during an infant's nap. The crib mattress or playpen padding must fit its dimensions, and the bed sheets must be snugly secured to avoid dislodging, which could pose a strangulation or suffocation hazard if they come off during an infant's nap.
The infant sleeping log was provided to the LPA for review during the inspection. Upon review, it was found that the licensee maintained a proper log that included the child's name, 15-minute checks, and staff initials. The LPA also reminded the licensee to maintain a minimum of 30 days of logs for review during the annual inspection and to keep the records for 3 years.
LPA observed the licensee had posted all the required forms (i.e., License, Emergency Disaster Plan, etc.). Fire drills are conducted and documented accordingly, and the last one was held on 12/12/2025.
LPA reviewed the records for both children and personnel. Children's records, including vaccination records, parental rights forms, and complete emergency information, were in their file. The licensee and her assistant have valid Pediatric First Aid/CPR and mandated reporter training certificates, as well as complete immunization records.
Temporary absence was reviewed and discussed with the licensee. LPA informed the Licensee that she must be at home during childcare operation hours to ensure that the children in her care are always supervised. When the licensee must be absent from the house, the temporary absence should not exceed 20 percent of the hours the facility provides care per day.
