What the inspector wrote

On 11/15/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Hanson Leong, made an announced case management visit to the child daycare facility listed above. The LPA was granted entry by the Director, Patricia Van Der Beek. Ms. Van Der Beek requested that the hillside activity area be added to the preschool facility during the unannounced required visit from the infant program on 11/15/2023, license # 214005364. The LPA explained the purpose of the visit to Ms. Van Der Beek. Present in the facility: 2 staff members, and 11 preschool aged children. All individuals listed on the facility\342\200\231s roster have been granted permission to work or be present in a childcare facility. The facility is operating within its capacity and in accordance with the required ratio of staff to children. The LPA and Ms. Van Der Beek both performed comprehensive inspections of the hillside activity area to look for possible threats to health and safety. The hillside activity area is built on a hill and then flattens out at the top, surrounded by trees and a patio. The LPA observed that the hillside activity area is in safe condition and free of hazards. The hillside activity area is surrounded by a fence that is at least 4 feet high to protect children and keep them in the outdoor activity area. Ms. Van Der Beek was reminded by the LPA that the hillside activity area is constructed atop a hill and that she is prohibited from using high climbing equipment, slides, swings, and other similar equipment. The LPA reminded Ms. Van Der Beek that the hillside activity area is only for free play. The LPA will approve the hillside activity area and the hillside activity area will take effect on 11/15/2023.
