Inspector’s narrative

What the inspector wrote

On January 9, 2026 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Naves met with the licensee Ericka Barrilas Corado for an unannounced Case Management inspection. The purpose of the inspection was explained, and the Licensee granted LPA entry to the home. During the visit, the Licensee and 2 helpers supervised eight children (7 preschool age, and one infant). The Licensee has requested additions to the day care areas. The front yard and a bathroom. Additionally, the licensee has had the side entrance repaved. During December 17 2025 inspection LPA observed a new bathroom being utilized for daycare use that was not previously approved by the department. LPA reminded licensee that off-limits areas may not be used for childcare during business hours. LPA requested licensee submit a letter of intent for the new bathroom being used and that latches need to be installed in the dryer that is in the bathroom. The bathroom was found to be clean and fully operational. The toilet and handwashing facility were well-kept, safe, and clean. The bathroom is equipped with appropriate toileting equipment and appropriate sanitation products. Licensee has installed latches for the dryer in the bathroom and all cleaning products are stored out of children reach. cont pg 2 >>>> page 2 Licensee and LPA toured the front yard and checked for any hazards. The front yard is enclosed by a fence and equipped with outdoor play equipment that is in good condition. The areas around and under high climbing equipment, swings, slides, and similar equipment were observed to be cushioned with grass that absorbs falls. The side entrance is evenly paved. LPA will recommend additions of front yard and bathroom #2 for daycare use. LPA also reminded licensee any change to day care areas must be previously approved before doing so licensee understood. LPA obtained updated facility sketch to add to facility file. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
